Kensi was woken up when Deeks tried but failed to carefully slide his arm out from underneath her body. She finally came around and saw Deeks sitting on the bed's edge.

"I dont feel right..." Deeks said as he sniffled loudly.

"What's wrong?" Kensi aked, sitting next to him and pressing her palm against his forehead. "You're warm.."

"Mmhhmm but im not leaving you out there on your own so" Deeks insisted and pushed himself off the bed.

Kensi immediately grabbed his wrist and pulled him back down next to her. "No, Deeks, sit down. I've done this on my own before."

"Really? Kens, its just a flu"

"Its does not look like a flu.." She sighed and stretched her hand around his back to grab her pillow. "Deeks, what am i holding?"

"My...my pillow?"

Kensi caught Deeks by surprise and hurled the pillow at him. She bit her tongue to keep from laughing as she put on the straightest face she could. "You're staying here, Deeks."

"Well that was uncalled for'' Deeks muttered under his breath and took her hands in his. "you'll be okay?"

Kensi ran her hands through his messy, blonde hair as she stared into his dark, ocean blue eyes. "Of course I'll be okay. Like I said.. I've done this before. Okay?"

"Okay. I love you. Take care of yourself, okay?" He said softly before leaning down and touching her lips with his.

"When do I not?" Kensi whispered when they pulled away, winking at him.

Deeks didn't do much at home. He stayed in his apartment and laid down on the couch with Monty on his chest for most of the day. Of course, he should have been resting but he was worried-sick about Kensi. At the same time, deep down, he knew that she could handle herself more than he ever could. He lazed around and watched reruns of Baywatch while talking to his LAPD K-9. Just as he was drifting off to sleep, he heard the door click open.

"God, kens what happened?" Deeks jolted up from the couch, setting Monty down on the floor next to it before rushing over to his partner.

Kensi was clearly limping and had bruises along her jaw and a cut on her forehead which had already been bandaged. She took small and rather unsure steps towards Deeks.

"What? Me? What? Nothing. Nothing's happened. Why would you-why would you think something happened." She smiled weakly.

"Um. Theres a bruise and a cut on your forehead" Deeks said as he closed the distance between them.

Kensi cackled, causing Deeks to take a step back. "That fever must have you seeing things." she said before giggling nervously.

"Kens...im serious" Deeks whispered as he traced his fingers along her jawline.

Kensi winced slightly before giggling once again to cover it up. "I'm-I'm fine"

"Who did this?" He asked softly as he lifted his chin so her eyes would meet his.

"no-no one" Kensi dropped her head and tried to walk past him without limping.

Without turning around, Deeks snatched her wrist and pulled her back so she stood in front of her. "Kens, stop trying to avoid this. You can barely walk. Now, who did this to you?"

"This guy back at the op.. I'm fine. really." She said reluctantly. She hated how he could get almost everything out of her, how he tore down her walls so easily after how hard it was for her to put them up in the first place.

Deeks shook his head and his heart ached at how much pain she must have been in. "I knew i should've gone with you..."

"You couldn't've done anything, Deeks. and You're sick!" Kensi raised her voice in frustration.

"It's just a flu! I'm your partner and i'm a cop i shouldn't have stayed home because of a stupid flu"

Kensi stroked his cheek and his skin still felt oddly warm and good. "I know...but let me just take care of you for once."

"You can't take care of me if you're hurt too. Where else are you hurt?" He asked as he took her hand off his face and gave it a slight squeeze

Kensi shrugged and looked away. "My tailbone, shoulder blade, and the scratch on my forehead.."

"Im sorry...your tailbone?" Deeks couldn't resist teasing her as her cheeks turned red.

"Yeah the tiny little bone before your butt, Deeks"

"No i know what it is but uh do you need it checked out or" He said, a wide grin spreading across his face.

Kensi shook her head in disbelief before rolling her eyes at him, hard. "You sure this is the flu? I think it's your mind that need medical attention."

"Here i'll take a look at the one at your shoulder blade" He suggested before walking towards the bedroom to get the first aid kit.

"No, Deeks. You're lying back down to rest"

"Really, mother? Kens, it wasn't a request" Deeks folded his arms across his chest and turned to face her.

"Well, what i said wasn't a request either." Kensi said as she mirrored his stance.

"You can't use my line! Kensi, it's the least i should do, as your partner"

Kensi furrows her brow in confusion and chuckled. "As my partner? Really now?

"Fine. Fine, i'll rest but you have to promise me you'll do the same." he sighed.

"Fine"

"Kens...all i care about is that you're okay. We good?" he asked as placed his hands on her waist.

"Mhmm, are you good?" she asked softly, running her hands up his arms.

"Yeah why wouldnt i be?"

Kensi dropped her hands to her side in shock. "You are freaking sick!"

"It's just a flu!"

"It better be.." she chuckled.

"Dont jinx anything. Lie down with me, please?" He pleaded and leaned down slightly to kiss her forehead.

"Okay" She smiled.
