A Princess Story

North Kingdom

We arrive at Beomgyu's kingdom and with no time to waste, Beomgyu leads us to his father's chambers.

"Dad, I brought guests and we could really need your help. Ryujin was attacked—" He knocks on his door and wasnt able to finish.

The door swings open, "Is Ryujin okay?" We see an older man that resembles Beomgyu. He really took after his father.

"Are you my dad or are you her dad?" Beomgyu ask.

"I'm just a dad in general. I would have reacted the same way if you told me Yeonjun was attacked" the dad says.

"That's a lie but I'll pretend I believe it" Beomgyu shakes his head.

"But seriously uncle. We have a lot of questions about Ryujin and why you sent her to the North Kingdom. Princess Minju said you ordered Ryujin to take over their throne?" Yeonjun ask right away.

Beomgyu's dad looks at Ryujin, "Do you want me to tell them?"

"Tell us what?" Yuna frowns at her sister, "You're still hiding something from me?"

Ryujin looks down unable to face Yuna. I'm not sure what she's hiding but I don't care. I take her hand to let her know that I'm here for her.

"I didn't order Ryujin to take the throne" Beomgyu's dad starts speaking without letting Ryujin answer.

"I sent her there to find a document for me."

"You let her risk her life for some documents?" I ask.

"Princess Yeji, the north and south kingdom were planning to invade your kingdom. Once they succeed then they plan to invade ours and Yeonjun's. We have to take control of the north before its too late" he explains.

"Take control? Were gonna attack them?" Beomgyu ask.

"Wait" Ryujin stops him then faces Yuna now, "You should hear it from me."

"What is it? You're scaring me" Yuna says.

"The North Kingdom used to be our kingdom. Our family was royalty. Minju's grandfather killed our grandparents and they framed our parents. They made the people believe that our dad was crazy and wanted the throne as soon as possible to control the people in the kingdom. Our parents and anyone related to them ran before they could be killed. Beomgyu's dad took them in because they were friends prior to the incident and he believed that our dad could have never hurt his own father" Ryujin let go of my hand then reaches for Yuna's.

"You're risking your life to get back the throne, is that what's happening?" Yuna sounds angry.

"I don't care about the throne, Yuna" Ryujin says.

"Then why? Why are you risking your life? Why are you listening to King Beomgyu's dad and went over there? What if you died and I wouldn't have known? You left me, Ryujin. You were my only family at the time and you left me. Not once but twice! You left me and became a royal guard then you left me again by faking your death! This has to stop. If you care about me at all, please just stop. Let's live here and live quietly" Yuna starts crying.

"Yuna, we were taken when we were kids. We never got the chance to be with our parents. Our mom died thinking you and I were dead. She died thinking her husband died looking for us. I'm sorry for abandoning you but it won't happen again. But we need to find our dad. We're too late for our mom but we may still have a chance with our dad."

"What makes you so sure that he's still alive?" Yuna wipes her tears.

"Because one of the documents I found from Minju's palace showed that our dad is being held captive at the southern kingdom. That's why I went there to look for him. The king of the south is holding him to blackmail Minju's family. If they take over Yeji's kingdom then they're planning to reveal the truth to the people from the north of how Minju's family are the ones that killed our grandfather."
