"NOT NEW BUT A CONTINUATION"
IT'S MONDAY, not the best day which we all can agree.
I have a plan, but I actually don't know how to start my plan. I should make another plan on how to begin my plan. Well that's a bit confusing. But to be honest, I really don't have a plan. If you're asking what plan I'm talking about. It's the famous Filipino dessert called leche flan, (I know corny). It's about my LIFE!
I'm currently eating my breakfast, it's sardines mixed with egg, like scrambled sardines egg, but not like an omelette. That sounded kinda "wrongish". Anyway that's a famous breakfast here in the Philippines. Well for the most part, it only applies (I guess) to those who can't afford beyond that food.
It's Monday morning and I'm already tired. I bet you are too.
After eating my breakfast, I gathered all my things and get ready for my work. Well not actually a work work, more of like my hobby? Work? I don't know. To get things straight, I own an art studio, down the drain, kidding. I own an art something studio or like space down somewhere where I lived. It's where I do my works, my artworks, paintings and stuffs. It's also where I do sell them and kinda offer tutorials or any lessons to those who wants it. And mind you, it's for free, but they can voluntarily give something, whatever they want, for as long as it's voluntarily as I said. It's just a small place actually.
AS I GET INSIDE of my studio and settled my things, I walked back to the glass door and flip the card with the word "open" outside. I arranged my materials near the corner of the place where I do my works and my lessons if I do have any.
Today I don't know what I'm going to work on actually since I've been hit by an art block recently, the last piece I've made was a portrait of some person I don't even know if it exist. Anyway, it's been quite hard to think of a subject you would like to make, especially that it's quite hard as well to think of an inspiration. Maybe I need to find a jowa, kidding.
I was cut from my train of thoughts when I heard the bell rings right at the top of the glass door. It's a male specie of human, kidding. A man I guess in his mid 20's entered my shop looking through my works and when he spotted me, he goes right into my direction.
"Uhm hey, good morning, are you uhm the owner here or the artist?"
"Yeah I am, good morning too, how can I cater your needs? Wait that sounded wrong or not? Anyway, saw something you would like to purchase? Or are you here to collect my tax? Kidding, so yeah what can I do for you?"
After I said that, he kinda look amused from what he heard from, well I guess this guy is not as tight as others.
"Wow" was all he said followed by a small laugh. He closed his mouth and for a moment I thought he got like offended.
"Honestly I just found your store while I was looking for something to give for my girlfriend, it's her birthday next week"
He said looking a bit shy and excited at the same time.
Hmm, I thought guys like him never exist anymore in this time of age (I'm not exaggerating it) but I guess I'm wrong. Maybe that's one thing about guys, or men, boys, whatever the hell you call them (mind you I'm a male specie too) they either surprise you in a negative way or positive way. You know they say? Don't judge the cover by it's book (kidding).
"Oh, well happy birthday for her then, I mean advance, anyway so what do you want so far? Like you want to give her a painting? Or I dunno anything you have in mind when you found my store?"
"Uhm thank you, I haven't went through all of the stuffs here, but what can you recommend?"
After what he said, one thing immediately came into my mind, though I haven't had any relationship before (I know sucks) but I like to draw some portraits to those who I look up to or like I have a crush on (yes I am that guy who drew his crush hopelessly) so that's what I suggested to him. He accepted it, and I showed him some of my samples of what really I mean and I guess it's approved since from the looks of his expression he is really looking forward and excited about it. This guy really amused and amazed me. I do really hope the girl he is with right now would care for his heart. I mean from the way he shows his expression, his demeanor, it's genuine and that he does love his girlfriend that much. I hope it ends well for him.
I know I'm hopeless, but right now I enjoy my life (just pretend like as if this is legit).
After that, he gave me a picture for reference, I gave him my business card for contact and that I assure him that quality and time is no problem with me. But of course! Artist reminder that before you accept a commission, half of the payment of maybe 1/4 should already be paid. Mindset ba mindset.
(Anyway his girlfriend is normal, kidding, I mean she's okay, that's it)
We settled the deal and he bids his goodbye and me? I get back into my place and gather all the materials I needed for that said portrait, by the way, I will be using oil paint for this one since it's kinda big and that he said he wants her girlfriend to be surprised.
You know I remember, way back in my college, some groups from our undergrad thesis formulated a title about developing a canvass board out of shredded CDs and old clothes if I'm not mistaken. Anyway I just kind of remember it, nothing big deal.
The bell rings again and this time, the person who walked through the door is no other than the principal three (kidding) it's my friend, a close friend of mine, we go way back in college and high school, we're more of like a long time friends.
She called my name the moment she got inside, and like any other friends, of course she yelled my name like as if she owns the place. She's handful to be honest and it drains me sometimes (don't mention that to her).
