"Now Mr Rimmer, I want to make it extra clear that putting yourself through high levels of stress can have negative effects on the human brain" Rimmer had finally been discharged from the infirmary and was now being given a lecture on 'maintaining his mental health', as if he needed any pointers on how to do that, he had excellent mental health. Well that was what he had concocted in that fuzzy little brain of his, in reality he had as much mental well being as a wet paper towel. He stood and nodded along with the doctor's words, making a point of not following her advice. The doctor must have been rambling for what felt like hours when he saw Toddhunter walk down the hall, and upon seeing him the man he straightened his posture and fixed his tie, trying his hardest to impress his superior and seem more confident in himself than he actually was. He gave Toddhunter a small nod before he caught a glimpse of Laurier following behind, he let his shoulders drop and his body relaxed, but not out of lack of discomfort, on the contrary even, because he could tell by the look on her face as her eyes met his, that if he asked, she wouldn't give good news as to why she was following so closely behind Toddhunter., and something in him was telling him the same thing, he could tell something was wrong. She passed the door where he was standing and he walked away from the frame to see her walk around the corner, catching one last glimpse her green eyes, covered by slightly messy mousy hair which rested just above her shoulders.
"Mr Rimmer" The Doctor said, alerting his attention once more, he let his head spin around to meet her eyes "yes ma'am?" He said with a respectful smile, for a moment he forgot that she was his superior by many ranks and almost forgot to suck up to her as much as possible. The Doctor rolled her eyes seeing through his facade, which Rimmer took a note of for future interactions. "Did you hear me Mr Rimmer?" He let his forced smile fade for a moment and gave one last look to the corner where his friend had gone "yes ma'm" he looked back at her once again "then you're free to go" she swiftly turned away from him without hesitation, Rimmer was about to object to her rudeness before the door was shut on his face and he was left in the middle of the hallway, he looked around, seeing one or two people chuckling at the incident before he straightened his tie and retreated back down the hall to his quarters.

"You are now free to leave Stasis" the voice boomed around her and reverberated through the small chamber she was placed in, sending the vibrations through her creating a not so comforting feeling underneath her skin. She reached for the handle on the inside of the door and turned it, pushing the door open, once she stepped a foot outside, she felt like something was off, something she couldn't quite explain, but it felt. Cold. She looked around expecting to see Toddhunter or really anyone, but she saw no one , not a single person in sight. Well, almost no one. Once she turned her head, she saw the barely human, entirely slobbish David Lister in all his glory but he could barely pass as 'human'. "Lister. What the hell is going on?" She said taking a few steps towards him, looking around her surroundings in the process "what makes you think I'm gonna know" Holly chimed in with his monotone voice "please proceed to the drive room for debriefing" The two have an unsure look to each other before following Holly's instructions and proceeding to the drive room, Lister looked around the small room with an odd expression before asking what both of them were thinking "Where is everybody Hol?" He touched the strange looking dust that had gathered on one of the tables and brought the substance up to his lips, which earned a slight slap on the arm from Laurier.
"They're dead Dave" Laurier looked at the screen projecting Holly's image with wide eyes, dead? What did he mean dead? "Everybody Dave" "What? captain Hollister?" "Everybody's dead Dave" "What? Toddhunter?" "Everybody's dead Dave" Well this is gonna take a while "What? selby?" "They're all dead, everybody's dead Dave" Holly said a bit more firmly, hoping to god that Lister would just understand and shut up. Lister spun around and looked at Laurier in disbelief "well don't look at me, I didn't kill them" Lister shook his head and walked past her out of the room, she looked back at Holly for a moment before following after him, she caught up with him at a few steps where he once again continued with his insistence "Peterson isn't is he?" "Everybody is dead Dave" Holly was clearly getting more aggravated with every question by the firm tone he held in his voice. "Not Chen" "Gordon Bennet, yes chen, everybody. Everybody is dead Dave" they carried on for a few more steps, lister still looking bewildered as ever, when a sudden horrible realisation hit Laurier, if 'everybody was dead Dave' then that meant "Rimmer..?" Laurier said in a panicked tone, hoping that Rimmer was really that forgettable that even the ships computer forgot he existed, and that he didn't apply when Holly said everybody. "He's dead Connie. Everybody is dead. Everybody is dead Connie" She let her body slump against the railing next to her, she had expected that answer really, but it still stung.
Lister leaned against the railing up ahead, taking a moment to consider what Holly was actually telling him "wait. Are you trying to tell us that everybody's dead" he carried on walking and gestured for Laurier to follow, the two then walking down a small set of steps and deeper into the ship "never should've let them out in the first place"
