Spartan's First PROM

Jace POV

Right now, Kaho and Arthur are talking to me about an event that's going to happen soon. And this is the first time I've heard about it.

Jace: Prom. Never heard of it.

Kaho: Makes sense. Well, it's a yearly event where all the students gather in the auditorium and dance the night away! I'm really looking forward to it. 

Arthur: It used to be that only upper classmen were allowed to attend but things changed since then. 

Kaho: It's designed to strengthen the bonds with existing partners or provide the opportunity to find someone suitable. That was why they originally had it, but it really serves as a chance to take a break and have some fun! 

Both of them look at me. Probably already knowing that I never had a real "break" or had real "fun" in my life. 

Arthur: Anyway... You're forgetting the best part! The Pandora Queen Contest.

I tilt my head at the mention of the contest. 

Kaho: It's a beauty pageant that happens at the end of the evening, the winner is determined by the votes of the students. And last year it was Miss Elizabeth that earned the title. 

Some information about her comes on my HUD. "Elizabeth Mably", Third-Year Student, and ranked Second among the Third-Years.

Arthur: Given her beauty and natural grace, I can't think of anyone more deserving of the title, "Queen", she definitely looks the part. 

I slightly turn and look over at Elizabeth's table, where she's sitting with her Limiter. She must've felt my stare because she suddenly turned to look at me. She tilts her head slightly, but stops and gives me a small smile, before leaving. Before looking back down at the table. 

Arthur: Kinda figured you wouldn't react. 

I keep staring down at the table, as if ignoring what he said. But then, Miss Rana decides to pay me a visit. 

Rana: Hello Jace! I have been wondering where you were! I was searching all over the entire campus for you! 

I just turn my head to her and don't say anything. 

Rana: Anyway! I heard that a School Dance is to be held soon. I would simply be overjoyed if the two of us can dance together!

Kaho: I don't think they had dance lessons wherever he trained. 

Rana: Oh, in that case I'd be happy to teach you how. 

I turn to looking at the table again. 

Rana: Oh. Did you invite Satellizer to be your partner already? 

I just shake my head to answer her that I didn't. But then she puts her hands over my left hand that's on the table. 

Rana: Then you'll be able to go with me! 

I look at her hands over mine, but then my Motion Sensors pick up someone just stopping near us. So I quickly turn my head to see Satellizer standing there. So she and Rana look at each other in the eyes. Which causes Kaho and Arthur to make up excuses to leave before the situation gets worse. I watch them go before putting my attention back to Rana and Satellizer. 

Satellizer: Rana, I hate to break it to you, well not really, but Jace has already invited me. 

Rana: How strange because Jace just told me that he didn't invite you yet. 

I didn't know how to solve the situation. So I stand up causing both of them to look at me. I grab both of them on the shoulder and push them a bit farther from each other to break it up. Then I look at Rana.
