Final Fantasy

Part 12

The night is winding down and the boat is back at the port. We decided to stay a while after we docked to enjoy the boat but now the lights are turned on and the music stopped abruptly. The teachers way of telling us to leave, so we grab our stuff and head to our car. We arrive back to the cabin and decide not to let the night end so we grab a few others from our schools and bring them back to our cabin where we pull out some snacks and actual drinks for us. We have a chill time with everyone and when we call it a night everyone is boo'd up with someone and bringing them back to their rooms. Soon it's just me and Kade cuddled up on the couch with the music quietly playing. "I had an amazing night." I tell him and nestle closer into his side. He kissed my temple and tightens his arm around me before saying "me to baby, by far one of my best memories with you." I smile and then get curious to what other memories he would consider the best. "What others are there? I mean obviously any time with you is enjoyable but is there any you would consider favourites?" He thinks on it for a moment before answering. "Yes there are a few I would consider favourites. For one at the lake when I asked you to be my girlfriend." I smile at the memory and wait for him to continue. "That was my favourite for many reasons, one being you agreed to go out with me, but also overhearing you planning our wedding colours with the girls." I freeze and my smile drops before I whip towards him. "You heard that!" I scream and cover my face. "I'm going to die Omg. Why didn't you say anything" he chuckles and pries my hands from my face. "Shh baby it was adorable, that's when I knew I wanted you for sure." He outstretches his hands to me and I take a seat again. "Ok go on." I prompt. "The second time was during the high ropes course, I was scared as hell something was going to happen to you but I was glad you trusted me to help you down. Plus having to hold you was a nice plus." He nudges me slightly and my smile returns. That was such a scary moment but he's right, I'm glad he was up there to help me. "There's so many more but my all time favourite was our first meeting at the coffee shop." I grimace at the memory and then ask him why it's his favourite. "Because even though you spilled coffee on my shoes I knew I wanted you in that moment, I was going to make you mine. Granted I had no idea I'd see you again and I beat myself up the entire time that I didn't get your number, but the universe worked it out for me and here we are." He tilts my head back after he finishes talking and kisses my lips. "You knew you wanted me the first exchange we had?" He nods and I think of how different my first experience with him was. "I thought you were an asshole, a hot asshole but one nonetheless." I chuckle and he joins in. "I was an ass wasn't I? Sorry baby." He apologizes and pulls me impossibly closer. "Forgiven." I say and we sit in comfortable silence for a while. Kade repeatedly rubs his finger lightly over my face until I start to doze off and he suggests we move into the bedroom. I agree and he half carries me to the bed, he tucks us under the comforter and folds me into his arms. "I love you Vale." He says and I mumble it back before being dragged into the darkness of unconsciousness.
