Part 22

After brunch the boys and I go for a walk around campus for a few hours, and then me and Kade decide to split off and go have some alone time. But before we go I pull Rickie aside to question him about the tour. "Why didn't you tell me?" I ask after confirming he got an offer as well. He scratches the back of his head and says "because I didn't know if she was going to offer the same to you Valerian. I would have felt horrible if she only offered it to me and I wouldn't have wanted you to think I was rubbing it In your face. And hell, I wasn't even sure if I was going but now that you are I will." I smile congratulating him and tell him I'll chat with him more later, as I walk back to Kade. We walk hand in hand back to his dorm and cuddle up on his bed to watch a movie. Kade gently strokes my hair as we watch and I bite my lip as I decide if I should talk to him about the dance offer now or later. Unfortunately Kade knows me too well and sensing something is off he asks "what is it baby? You're about to chew right through your bottom lip." He says with a chuckle. I attempt to laugh with him but it comes out strained and awkward. Well now is as good a time as any, I think and sit up to face him. I twist my hands together and look down at the bed. "I wanted to talk to you about something. It's part of the reason I came to visit." He nods for me to continue. "So when I was at my class last night I got offered to go on tour, it's an amazing chance for me. I'd get paid as well as get good exposure." I pause slightly and Kade jumps on the silence to say "oh my god baby that's amazing! I'm so proud of you, this is going to be great for you, when is it?" I look at him through my lashes and his smile falters a little as he asks. "What baby? When is it?" I swallow and tell him "it's this summer, I'd leave after my last class.. meaning we wouldn't really get the chance to live together until school starts up again. I'd basically be gone the entire summer." He frowns slightly before masking it and giving me a small smile. "Baby you can't pass up this opportunity, it's huge. I'm so proud of you for getting this and I'm not going to be the one to stand I your way, you have to do this Val." I stroke his cheek and nod. I knew he would be supportive of me going but it just sucks I'll have to be away from him. "Just be safe out on the road ok? Don't drain yourself and I know sometimes roadies can be rough so don't go anywhere alone." He says, reminding me I have one more thing to tell him. "Well I won't be alone, Rickie got offered the same. He didn't tell me but he did, and we will be dancing together." Kade nods and his face relaxes a bit. "Good I'm glad he will be there for you, not that you need protecting but I'm more relaxed knowing you're with someone I trust." I nod and we talk through some more of the details.
