Jangmi filmed her fingers through her tendrils, fastening them into a bunch at the edge of her neck. She had lost so much of them in this time. Her mother would disown her if she found out how ugly her once-partially commendable hair looked. Now it seemed like a patchy attempt of someone who dreamt of beautiful hair. A dry sigh escaped from her lips. She pulled the emergency lip balm out from her purse and stroked some on her lips, frowning at the way it smelled and tasted now. Maybe it was too old to be used but okay, what did it matter now.

Jangmi dropped it back in her purse and zipped her sack bag, briskly reaching for the door and hurriedly rushing out. She'd be late for her lecture. It wasn't really required of her to be present in college all the time anymore but showing herself on a regular basis wouldn't hurt. It would save her a multiple of forthcoming issues as well. Plus, she was never the kind of student who would take undue advantage of the situation. All the while in Seoul, all her dream had been was to be sitting in an arm chair in a cabin sighing to the smell of freshly roasted coffee that might have walked in through the hands of someone she could call her own assistant. Maybe feeling the keys of a keyboard and scheduling and cancelling meetings while being surrounded by the rusk of wooden furnitures. More or less, something corporate. She sought after such a life and now all that she could hear were metals wringing against people's heads and calling them murders.

The corridors of the university were silenced and not many ebony haired student figures were visible. Jangmi paused for a second with the sound of nothing brought back by the wind. Of course the classes had already begun.

After arriving at the door of her class, she noticed the eerie sounds of an on going lecture. Jangmi gulped. New found challenge. Now she had to bear the shame of walking through the crowds while they all pretend to not have seen her. She still had the chance to turn away and go back, only if her eyes hadn't met those of the slender lecturer podiumed on the stage.

"Geom Jangmi?" She raised a brow.

"Y-Yes." Jangmi clenched her eyes shut. Damn this stutter. She had to stop this. Think of the sentence and then speak it. Simple.

The professor stilled for a second before nodding at her to let her in. As a reflexive function, the eyes of the entire room swerved towards her, each of them tensed, surprised or offering another variation of the same word.

Had she done something wrong? There could be no reason she was famous all of a sudden. Especially in a class of people that didn't even know or talk to her.

Jangmi felt the needle of tingles reach her knees as she guided her feet forward, looking around for a seat. The only one empty was the one right in the front next to a blond guy, which seemed like a pretty bad idea given that she was late and would be right in front of the lecturer without a single idea of what was being taught.

The boy slightly shifted away from her when she butted down next to him. A hollow feeling grew in her chest and she swallowed. How weird to have everything going wrong one after the other when all she needed was someone to be normal for a second.

Had everyone finally learnt of her expeditions and history? That would be the only explanation for such an eerie portion of recognition from the class.

To cut through her surviving poise, the lecturer even knew her name. Was it because of the attendance register? Yes. That could be it. Maybe she was the only one late today which is why she had suddenly shone through. Certainly happening and practicable.

Not everything was from a sore root. Sometimes things could have normal explanations too. Maybe it was time she collected her scattered mind and shaped it into something worthwhile.

Jangmi cleared her throat and began ransacking her bag for her notebooks. It was a mystery as to where they were at this point in the lecture or the entire class but she could use her wringing hands to jot down something. It may prove to be useful at a later stage in this.
