"I missed you." Jangmi reached for Yujin's woollen shirt and wrapped her arms around his torso for a warm hug. "I was beginning to think you hated me."

The slide of his hand on her back wounded her strength to pull herself away. It had seemed eternally painful to keep spinning in the routine like the seasons. When Kobin had called her in the morning to tell her that Yujin was here, she couldn't help but shove the temporal ache in her head for another day and speed like a train to her friend. Company was like a lost dream, and his return was those dreams coming true.

Of all the people she knew, Yujin was the only one who was practicably efficient to feel the things she felt regarding this crisis. Someone who maybe loved Chaewon as much as Jangmi considered her close.

"Are you okay?"

"I guess so." She cooed. Letting him go, Jangmi stepped backwards to collect his form in her eyes.

He had gained weight. His cheeks looked freshly plumped while his body seemed to take a little more space than it once used to. Jangmi glanced at him and smiled realising that he was allowing her to check him out.

"I heard about Chaewon from Kobin," he muttered, draining the lingering happiness.

Their faces fell like the fall of rain, clouded by the threat of a situation no one knew perfectly well.

"And what do you think might have happened?"

Yujin sighed tangling his fingers in his hair and yanking at them. Kobin gently patted his friend's back as he fell further to his breakdown. Even though things were sailing for a thunderstorm with Chaewon and Yujin, Jangmi couldn't see them be so wary that they refused each other's dire straits too. Yujin had to still love her as he once did.

Jangmi felt a sinking jag in her heart to wonder why Taehyung never offered her the space to cherish any memory. It wasn't strange to want to remember things and hold them tightly to the heart. But these thin threads that were clinging were being snipped off until no contact remained except the open scars from the snips.

What did his nonchalance even mean? His knees hit the floor for once and then they brazenly stood against her too. Taehyung left no creak for her to think otherwise.

Jangmi hated every episode of the claws he dug through her without her knowing that his bare minimum was still less than what the minimum was supposed to be.

Yujin raised his head, shimmering eyes receptive to her, "I-I think I might be able to help."

"How?" Jangmi's eyes widened.

He exchanged knowing glances with Kobin. His shoulders drooped and he erected himself to recompose the lost motivation.

Did they possibly find out exactly what happened to Chaewon? Did Yujin mean the shipment in particular or was this a shot in the dark he was taking?

"We have to meet someone."

"Who?" Jangmi's eyes narrowed.

"You will have to come with us to understand that."

"To where?" Her brows furrowed. She balanced her weight on her right leg and folded her arms at her chest, displeased with the number of questions she was forced to ask.

It was early in the evening so there weren't many people around her apartment building. Jungkook was no longer with her since the time he left for an urgent meeting - as he quotably said. The silence in her life had returned and it was fulfilling to have no one by her side for once.

"Get changed into something casual and come with us." Yujin pushed her gently by the shoulder to direct her towards the elevators.

Jangmi huffed irritatedly and made her way upstairs nonetheless.
