Guilt

We all just stood there looking at Shane in silence.

HANK:The team and I will handle this you go see Hailey and the baby we'll meet you soon

I nodded my head.I started walking to the elevator I felt with wave of guilt just come over me.When the elevator got here I stepped in and my eye started to tear up as the doors started closing.Will than ran over and stopped it before it could close.He hugged me and looked at my head.
JAY:I'm okay Will
WILL:No your not look at your head,Just look your a mess you've got to get the checked out
JAY:I just want to get back to Hailey I need to go see her and the baby
WILL:I want to meet my niece too but You've got a bad head injury how about you just let me check you out then we both go up
JAY:Alright fine
WILL:I'll tell nat to get them transferred to a room upstairs
JAY:Alright

About 20mins later Will had been finished stitching up my head.We then made my way upstairs to see the baby

WILL:I be there in a few I have to handle something
JAY:Alright

Once I got upstairs I walked over to Hailey and the baby

HAILEY:Jay,I heard what happened
JAY:Hailey,I'm sorry I-
HAILEY:Babe we don't have to discuss it right this second.I'm just glad your okay

We hugged

HAILEY:The doctors checked out Scarlet and everything is fine.She should be able to go home in like the next 2 days.Trudy is said she's happy to keep seb until then.I don't think he should meet scarlet in these conditions you know
JAY:Agreed,I know he'll be really happy to meet his sister tho.Does he know she's here yet?
HAILEY:No
JAY:We should surprise him
HAILEY:Yeah but then right after we will have to tell him about Shane
JAY:Everything is gonna work out hails

HAILEYS POV
I didn't know how to feel after hearing the news.I wasn't angry at Jay or Hank it was just the thought of not knowing what I'd say to Seb.He doesn't remember his Father much since he wasn't really there for him.but I knew one day he would be curious.Then A few minutes later Will and the team walked in.

RUZEK:(Gasps:)Is that mini Halstead???
JAY:Indeed it is

We all smiled.Ruzek picked her up and everyone gather around him

KEV:What did you guys name her?
JAY:Scarlett
KIM:I love that name
JAY:The OB helped us pick it out
KIM:Yeah it really fits her.
WILL:Welcome to the Family kid
HAILEY:I can't wait till we get to take her home,then she can get used to the environment and everyone around her
KIM:Not to long after that you and Jay will be back at work and we can get rid of your subs.
HAILEY:Are they really that?
KIM:I mean not Jays sub but yours my god she's something else

We laughed

WILL:I know dad was a real pain but he'd be proud you if Jay and so would would mom
JAY:Yeah I know

I smiled

HANK:Guys I just got a message from IAB they aren't gonna launch and investigation it was a good shoot.this a good thing but there is still a long way to go. Especially for jay and Hailey,We're ah family so we look out for one another so how ever you guys need us we're here

They all agreed

JAY:We really appreciate it
HANK:I know we just got here but it's getting late we should let the baby get some sleep
RUZEK:Yeah it's almost time for us to pick up mak from the sitter anyways
HAILEY:Alright goodnight guys
KIM:Night

We all said our good nights

JAY:You should get some rest too,I'm gonna go talk to Voight really quick
HAILEY:Okay

I sprinted over to voight so I could catch him before he left.

JAY:Wait up
HANK:Everything Alright?
JAY:Not really,I just feel like we should have handled that situation differently
HANK:There was nothing else we could've done.If I'm gonna be honest with you we made the right choice.Lord knows if he lived he wouldn't have stopped until you were dead.Now it's just time to accept it and move on.Now go be with your family
JAY:I guess
HANK:It's just your guilt talking you know we did what we had to do.Trust me once this feeling ware's off you'll understand.Now go
JAY:Okay

I started to walk away and turned around

JAY:Hank... thank you

He nodded and kept walking
