They got home late that next night. Drista wasn't looking forward to it at first, but was glad to be home once they were finally back.
Dream carried her things to her room for her first, and then went back for his. George was asleep despite Dream texting him several times to say they were almost home.
"You go right to bed, you look so fucking tired." Dream told Drista.
"Goodnight." Drista mumbled tiredly and went upstairs with Bruno to go to sleep. On the bright side, they would get to sleep in their very own bed again.
Dream brought his things to his bedroom and laid it by the closet. As he suspected, George was passed out on his bed. Snoring without a care in the world. Dream smiled softly and got in the bed without bothering to change. He wanted to waste no time joining George.
George stirred as Dream wrapped his arms around him. He almost panicked at first, thinking it was an intruder. Although intruders don't typically sneak in to cuddle. "You're home?"
"I am, you would know that if you didn't fall asleep." Dream whispered teasingly. "I'm so tired, my ass is still numb from all that sitting."
George rolled his eyes and buried his face in Dream's chest. "Night, I'm so tired." George said back to Dream before drifting off to dream land once again. Dream didn't mind because he passed out soon after as well.
Unfortunately Drista wasn't having the same luck with sleep. Bruno and Nancy were running around her room, playing to celebrate their reunion. On top of that she was so tired, that she wasn't actually sleepy anymore. It was on odd feeling. They were past being able to easily fall asleep.
Drista kept tossing and turning, even fluffing and readjusting their pillows. Eventually Bruno and Nancy settled down and things went quiet. That didn't mean Drista could sleep though, she stayed awake. It took an hour of trying to sleep before she actually managed to fall asleep.
It wouldn't last for long though. After being asleep for two hours, she woke from loud knocking. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, looking towards her door. "Come in?" She thought something might of happened, and Dream was coming to tell her. She didn't know exactly what would warrant Dream waking her up at this time, but that was her best guess.
The knocking didn't come from the room door. Drista readjusted their gaze to the closet door. It was shut all the way. The knocks happened again, and Drista could tell they were coming from the closet instead. Now they definitely weren't holding anyone hostage in their closet, so they got up and turned on the lights. Overtired and ready to check on the noise so they could go back to sleep.
"Whoever you are, you can not touch or harm me. I have all power over you, I am in control." Drista practiced what Techno had taught her. She walked to the closet carefully. Bruno and Nancy were still asleep, so it couldn't be that bad.
Drista held their breath as they pulled open the closet door. As they thought, the closet was empty besides their clothes. They should of been happy that it was empty, but that meant there was something with them that they couldn't see. "You must leave now, you're not welcome here."
As soon as Drista said that, the closet door was slammed back in her face. Obviously frightened, they ran out of the room. As if the slam wasn't loud enough to wake Dream, Bruno started barking.
"What happened?!" Dream asked as he ran out into the hallway and met her.
"Something slammed my closet door!" She cried and stood behind her brother as if something was after her.
"Oh my god." Dream rubbed his face and groaned. This was not what he wanted to deal with. "Are you okay?"
Drista nodded quickly.
