The leader couldn't process nor believe what he just witnessed.

And neither could the king.

Chan's eyes were still opened wide and a strike of rage flashed through his body up to his face.

This was his chance.

His eyes instantly turned to the man, whom was still looking ahead and rapidly moved both his hands to the king's hands, taking them from his neck and grabbed the dagger. Before the man could attack, the boy penetrated the sharp object into his chest, not only one time but several.

He stabbed the king multiple times, until the old man fell on the ground and a pool of blood was behind him.

The boy kneeled down next to the body and without thinking twice he ran the dagger through the man's neck, cutting his throat.

Blood squirted into Chan's face and his expensive clothing, however, he didn't even noticed it or cared about it.

Chan stood there, staring at the king's lifeless body until his eyes started to form a river of tears.

"H-Hyunjin..." The leader whispered as he flooded his eyes and cheeks with tears.

"Chan!" He heard some familiar voices, but he couldn't face them even if he tried to.

Suddenly he felt an arm wrapping around his shoulder. "Are you okay? Where's the prince?"

He heard Minho's worried voice, making turn around to face him.

From the desperate gaze in his eyes, the other boy could tell that something wasn't right.

"Hyunjin?!" Felix began shouting and walking around the area.

"Prince?!" Jisung did the same as the freckled-boy.

As they called for him, Chan's eyes continued swimming in tears. He couldn't hear them shouting his name anymore because he knew that Hyunjin wouldn't respond.

"Enough!" The older yelled, abruptly standing up. "He's... dead." He ached, with jaw clenched and pointing to the edge of the cliff.

"W-What...? N-No." The freckled-boy whispered as tears began filling his eyes. "I-It can't be true..."

"I'm sure there's an explanation, he couldn't just–"

"H-He k-killed himself t-trying to save me." Chan weakly answered and started walking away.

"Wait! Chan!" Minho tried to catch him up but he was far gone.

Felix inevitably fell down on his knees, his whole body began shaking and he couldn't stand up anymore. The squirrel-boy quickly kneeled in front of the boy and embraced him in a hug.

"E-Everything is going to be okay... he's okay..." Jisung whispered into the blond's hear, trying to comfort him and himself.

A month slowly passed and they couldn't find the prince's body.

They still couldn't believe that he was gone but it was most likely, with a fall that high and a river right below, he could've drowned or died on the impact.

The seven boys passed days and nights trying to find him, however they found nothing.

After a long day of searching they went back to the palace. They bathed, dressed fresh clothes and sat at the dinner table, ready to eat.

Wooyoung stood up from his seat and circulated his eyes to the leader's direction. His face was as painful to look at as has been these past few days, with grief being all the older could endure and live with. "Now that the king is gone, the allies think that you would be fit as king, Bang." Those words were not only hard to say but difficult to hear.

"I can't be king." The leader roughly answered and glanced at the dark-haired boy.

"You're the only one fit, not one else." Jisung said, standing up as well.

"No, I'm fucking not!" Chan shouted in a growl like tone, violently banging on the wooden table.

They all jumped from their seats and looked at the leader with concerned eyes.

"Hyunjin would want that." Felix mumbled, loud enough for everyone to hear and lowered his head.

The older's angry expression soon softened a bit after hearing the boy, knowing that he was right.

"Please." Changbin suddenly spoke, standing up. "Be our king."

Chan's eyes began roaming the entire room, watching their worried and hurtful faces. Even if he was going through something so distressful and tragic, the leader realized that he couldn't just abandon his friends and everyone else. They should have a king, in despite of thinking he wasn't the best choice, he had to learn and try to be, for himself, for others and for Hyunjin.

"I will." The leader spoke, taking his hands off of the table and watching everyone. "I'll be the next king."
