The prince never had such a fun night in his life. After they had dinner, a few of them sang and danced along with the classical music the musicians were playing. Felix and Jeongin were mocking each other as they danced, which amused Hyunjin so much that he began uncontrollably laughing.
As this occurred, Chan smiled to himself, seeing how the boy was having fun. He wanted some fresh air so he stood up and walked outside, to the balcony area, which the younger noticed and decided to follow him.
The weather was quite warm, as summer was just around the corner, and there was a bit of wind, but nothing too special.
Chan placed his hand on the marble balcony as he glared at the night sky, and Hyunjin silently walked in, glaring at him— his brown hair was down, a soft grin attached to his lips, and his eyes gleaming.
He couldn't help but think that the older looked beautiful.
The prince got closer and stood beside him, slowly moving his eyes to the stars. Now he could see why he was smiling so tenderly, as shooting stars rapidly flew across the night sky as if it was magic.
Even if it was fascinating, the boy didn't care much, as he decided to stare at the older instead.
"Beautiful." Chan finally spoke, not taking his eyes off the sky.
"Yes... yes you are."
The older slightly widened his eyes, hearing the younger, and circulated them to his face. Hyunjin's cheeks were a peachy tint and his eyes traveled down to the stone floor.
Chan could obviously tell that the boy was getting shy, which made him chuckle. "Adorable."
As he muttered, he began to walk inside, however, the prince quickly stopped him by grabbing his arm.
The leader turned his eyes around, to face him once more, and the younger's eyes looked straight into his, without a single blink.
Hyunjin felt more than ready to tell Chan how he truly felt about him, even if the older didn't like him that way. He had to say it now or he would regret it for the rest of his life.
"I like you."
As he spoke in a sweet tone, the wind began hovering through his raven hair, making it dance and submerge with the night sky.
Chan's eyes didn't stop sparkling, not even once, and this time they were gleaming more than ever, as he glared at the boy.
However the leader couldn't answer him quite yet, so he simply smiled at him and walked away, leaving the prince questioning himself.
;
That night quickly became incredibly painful for the younger. He was the only one sitting by the table, his eyes incredibly tired from holding tears back and his mind running, even though he didn't know what to think.
They were all having fun, and this included Chan, that was having a long conversation with Wooyoung and smiling a lot.
The prince had enough of it, so he stood up and started to leave the room, but Jisung stopped him by walking in front of him.
"Are you leaving, prince?" He asked, raising an eyebrow, noticing that the boy's face wasn't very happy, and looked quite down.
"Y-Yes, I'm a little tired." Hyunjin said, lowering his eyes to the floor. "See you tomorrow." With that he gave him a weak smile and walked out of the dining room, leaving Jisung worried.
The prince felt a heavy feeling in his throat as his tears begged to get out, which made him rapidly walk towards his quarters. When he arrived, his eyes bursted into tears, however, he couldn't remain still, he had to pack his bag and sleep in another room.
Chan noticed the boy leaving in such a rush that he decided to follow him after a few minutes. As he entered the room, he watched the younger as he folded his clothes and heard him sniffing.
"What are you doing?"
As Hyunjin heard the older, he moved his hands to his eyes, whipping the tears away, and continue packing.
"I'm going to sleep somewhere else."
The leader furrowed his eyebrows in concern but soon realized why the prince was acting that way. He let out a small sigh and stepped toward him.
"Don't do that, please." Chan spoke in a gentle and calm voice, which didn't occur much, however, he felt softened enough with the boy that not only his body language showed that but his voice too.
Hyunjin began to feel his cheeks and nape much warmer as he heard the older's tender voice. He didn't want to admit it, but that made him feel high up in the clouds; however, his heart only ached more, knowing that Chan probably only felt sorry for him.
He turned around, lowering his eyes to his feet, not wanting to face the older at that moment. "I-I said I liked you, y-you could at l-least say you d-don't like me b-back. W-Why didn't you?"
Chan's heart broke into a million pieces for the second time as he heard the prince's voice crack as tears collapsed to the floor. The first time the leader felt this way towards him was on his birthday when the boy told him what he had gone through. He wanted to give Hyunjin the biggest embrace, however, he didn't know if he could or how to do it, given the situation at that time.
The older knew that he liked him, he knew for a few weeks now, but it was all new to him as he had never seen men that way before.
He didn't want to disappoint the prince, because he wasn't the type to fall in love with someone so he didn't know what to do when that sort of thing occurred.
However, that's not all he felt— He was terrified that something awful could happen during the mission and that one of them would not make it.
"Because that's not the truth..." Chan answered the boy, and this time he lowered his head as well.
Hyunjin's teary eyes widened and he quickly lifted his head. "Do you like me?"
"I can't– imagine if something happens during the mission... Then I'll–"
"That's exactly why I told you, if I didn't I would regret it." The prince nervously gulped, slowly grabbing one of Chan's hands, and moving it to his wet cheek, caressing it against the older's skin, which made him look up.
Chan's eyes glared at every detail of the boy's puffy, crimson and watery face. He was completely dazzled by his sudden action and how the younger's eyes closed as he felt his skin rubbing in his hand.
Their faces were quite close at this point and the only thing Chan could think of, was the raven-haired lips, and what flavor would they taste like.
After a few seconds, Hyunjin opened his eyes and a soft grin appeared on his pinkish lips, as he stared at the older's astonishing face.
No word was being said, and all they could do was gaze at each other.
Until Chan decided to stop, moving his other hand to the boy's opposite cheek and approach his face even closer.
They were only a few millimeters away from touching their lips together, however, Chan wanted to be sure that the prince also wished for it so before he could do so, he flickered his eyes in front of Hyunjin's sparkling ones.
The prince inevitably smiled, knowing what was about to happen, and calmly nodded his head.
With that, they locked their lips together, in a kiss they would remember forever.
