A couple of weeks passed and the married couple settled into somewhat of a normal routine.
Fortunately, their home had one extra room built in, Hiccup and Astrid both knew it was for potential grandkids, but currently Hiccup slept in there, and in the early morning when Hiccup would take Toothless out for a morning flight Astrid would get up and light the fireplace, and occasionally prep some food for the two of them.

After their wedding night spend on the back of Toothless, Astrid had been extremely understanding towards that way of living, even rarely letting Toothless come inside when it was cold out.
It was a small gesture of acceptance but Hiccup appreciated it very much.

Unfortunately, as time passed and life became a sense of normal, people presumed that their "honeymoon phase" was over, and they started to ask the couple to show themselves.
Hiccup's friends were especially pushy, wanting to see the fine lady that was half of the first marriage in their group.

"You seem quite annoyed, but isn't it normal for friends to be curious?" Astrid asked as she threw another piece of wood onto the fire that Hiccup sat in front of, glooming after having been confronted by his cousin, Snotlout, about when he'd introduce Astrid to them properly.
Astrid had briefly greeted them at the wedding but she had been too occupied to string up a conversation with any of them.

"It is normal, but they...aren't exactly" Hiccup grumbled.

"See, now you're confusing me"

"My friends are great, don't get me wrong, they're just..." hiccup trailed off. He loved his friends, truly he did, but they could be too much, especially in situations like these where the twins or Snotlout would definitely say something stupid or horrifyingly embarrassing.
"They can be a lot"

"I'm an adult woman already learning to live amongst dragons after being taught to hate them my entire upbringing, that is a lot!"

Hiccup just stared at her as she went on her small rant, and sure enough, she had a pretty good point, but there was another thing Hiccup got out of what Astrid had been saying. "You really wanna meet my friends, Huh?"

Astrid didn't quite blush but she was visibly embarrassed.
She did in fact want to meet Hiccup's friends. She knew that the environment and its people molded people into the person they became, and she was always curious about what had shaped Hiccup.
She had always secretly wondered after her father had told her that Hiccup's mother had been killed by the creatures that Hiccup so adored.
"Is it so strange" Astrid crossed her arms over her chest, getting a little defensive.

"Not at all, it is actually...strangely comforting" Hiccup grinned, and Astrid relaxed her stance. "But still, I think it's important I at least tell you a little about them so you don't break their bones"

"I wouldn't"

"You would"

Hiccup then spend the next half hour going over each of his friends' personalities and Astrid quickly got a grasp of it.
Fishlegs was a dragon enthusiast, if you asked him about Gronkle's he'd never stop talking, but other than that he was sweet and was undeniably Hiccup's closest friend in the group.
Then there were the twins, Ruffnut and Tuffnut, both devoted to the god of mischief, Loki, and apparently, it was noticeable as they liked to make every situation chaotic and even dangerous if they got the chance, the number of times Hiccup said they had nearly killed his cousin Snotlout was deeply concerning.
Then Snotlout, immediately Hiccup sighed. He was his cousin, teammate, and rival, Snotlout was the kind of guy that had always wanted to upstage Hiccup, and he succeeded in the first 15 years of their lives, making him quite cocky and unruly, but Hiccup theorized that probably had something to do with what seemed to be underlying problems with self-esteem.
