The Trenches

I was in the trenches as the bullets flew over me. My hands and feet were numb, my fingers trembled as I gripped my gun. I peeked over and a bullet found my shoulder.

I fell back and hit the ground, my mind spun and my commander stood over me.

"Get up Sargent"

He grabbed my arm and pulled me up, his grin was lopsided.

I nodded and went back up, as I looked over I saw a pair of eyes. They were blue and they scared me. I held up my gun and shot, even though my fingers trembled.
