Shanell

"I can't believe you're out with us, Shanny."

"This doesn't even feel real right now." Bianca spoke dramatically from her chair as we all sat across from each other, getting our hair done.

"She's so dramatic." I could help but to laugh, making them do the same as I rolled my eyes playfully.

"No, really."

"I haven't seen Shanny in a very long time." The girl doing my hair spoke up, considering I used to come to her all the time when I lived down here.

"Last time I saw her—"

"-her and Cain were going at it right outside that front door about something."

"Then he came in and put a stack of money in my hand and Shanny came in with a big smile on her face." She spilled and I chuckled softly to myself, remembering exactly what she was talking about.

That was around the time I'd just had Mya and Cain was being petty about paying for my hair because I'd come here every other week to get it done.

We were broken up at the time so he thought I was doing it for another guy but that wasn't the case at all.

I was just being petty too.

It was stupid kid stuff, I was just glad we're in a better place now.

A much better place.

"Yes, I remember that. His big head self used to get on my nerves." I couldn't help but to laugh as they all did as well.

"I'm just saying, we missed you, friend." She went on and I poured guiltily.

"See." Bianca instigated, making me roll my eyes.

"That's how we feel."

"We all haven't been out together in a while." She went on and I nodded my head in agreement.

It had been a long time but I was back now and I was enjoying myself so that's all that mattered. And if I could, I would do this more often.

Since today was going pretty smooth. No drama.

Just fun with my friends.

"Oh and Shanny.."

"Markeeda and them all said they want to see you." Lima spoke up as she typed away on her phone, referring to their cousins while I raised my eyebrows.

"Where are they right now?" I couldn't help but to ask, knowing I wanted to see everybody too.

I missed their crazy asses.

"Markeeda at the nail shop right now but she said her mama having a block party tonight."

"We might as well go there instead of going to the club, if y'all want." She looked at both of us, trying to see if we were down and Bianca nodded in agreement.

"You want to go there instead, Shanny?" She then asked me and I thought about it for a second.

It sounded a lot better than the club. At least, we would be around family rather than a bunch of randoms.

Plus I could take Mya with me and Cain would probably want to come too. .

"Yeah, we can do that." I ended up saying, making up my mind.

"I'll just text Cain and tell him to bring Mya there. That way she can spend time with her little cousins and I can spend time with my boo." I spoke truthfully as they all looked at me.
