With Deus's hand on his shoulder, Hiiro's face went pale with despair, as he looked again at the price of the equipment.

Feeling the pressure from both the man next to him, as well as the smiling salesperson, the black-haired broke college student couldn't help but feel trapped between a rock and a hard place.

Deus lowered his eyes, as he looked at the trembling figure next to him. The unfamiliar frozen look of despair and reluctance on Hiiro's face made him laugh lightly.

Because Hiiro's mind was busy with his current dilemma, the only person that saw that sight was the salesperson, who was surprised to see the infamous Deus exhibit such a lighthearted and positive emotion. The only times she's seen him smile was when he was doing so arrogantly or threatening someone...

Even Deus hadn't noticed any of his changes recently, so he raised an eyebrow at the momentary shocked face of the salesperson.

However, his attention was soon directed elsewhere, as he felt a tug on his sleeve.

With a tear forming in his eye, Hiiro slightly looked up at Deus, with a forced smile on his face.

"A-actually, I think I should put some stuff back..."

Deus's brows knit as he smiled threateningly yet handsomely.

"Oh? Didn't you pick these out so happily for yourself, though?"

"T-that was!!—"

Realizing he couldn't just say that it was because he thought he was going to drain Deus's bank account, Hiiro quickly shut himself up. Looking down for a second, he bit his lip as he tried his best to let out a reasonable response, that won't make him look like an idiot.

"I... I just don't like them anymore..."

With a raised eyebrow and a smirk, Deus looked at Hiiro, as he crossed his arms domineeringly.

"I didn't know that our Seraphim was such a fickle man?"

'WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE YOU KNOW ME SO WELL?!!'

"Well, considering the time that you guys spent picking out clothes, anybody could change their mind."

As Hiiro could only scream in his heart, he was unable to bite back a mumble.

At this point though, the moment he realized that his thoughts had left his mouth, he knew that Deus had heard him. There was no debate or hope that the latter didn't notice his comment.

His fears were only proved to be true when he felt a chilling sensation down his back, as the general direction of Deus felt degrees cooler than the rest of the room.

'Haha... I'm so screwed...'

As Hiiro unconsciously scratched his forearm, anxiously, he debated on what to say and what to do. However, in the end, he could only decide on one thing.

'Since I'm fucked either way, let's just double down! Haha! Hurray for kamikaze!!'

Turning to the attractive-yet chilly man, next to him, Hiiro swallowed back any cries for help, as they made eye contact.

"Since you're the one that made me come here, isn't the polite thing to do to cover the cost?"

The salesperson didn't want to downplay Hiiro's courage, but she could only see him like a rabbit, going against a dragon. In her head, she was already paying respects for his funeral...

However, much to her surprise, she hadn't seen a bloodbath just yet.

Leaning against the wall, which only made a picturesque image, Deus kept his smile while exuding an icy disposition.
