Walking up to the stage my nerves started to ease a bit. It's funny normally your nerves would increase but mines wasn't.

I think it's because I know what I'm going to say and whatever I say, people are gonna let it stick with them or just let it pass on by.

Honestly, I didn't even know how I was elected for this shit. My goal was to create a low profile, you know be in and out but things change.

I nodded my head at the principle once I was on top of the stage. I faced my body towards the crowd of people and took a deep breath.

Before I began talking I looked in the pool of students to find my boys. I saw Darrius mouthed the words "don't fuck up bitch" and I rolled my eyes at him. I looked at Hades and he gave me his infamous smirk.

'As you may all know my name is Persephone and I will be saying a speech that you can either remember or don't. I'm not going to make no long ass speech because frankly I don't have time for that'.

I got a couple of laughs from that last line.

'I never grew up with any of you, most of the people started together as freshman and ending together as seniors. I came my senior year which was unique. I didn't quite fit in with anyone because let's be honest I didn't want to. You have your jocks, popular girls, geeks, nerds, emo people, drama people, and so many other cliques in this school that I never really wanted to be apart of.

It took me sometime to realize that it's ok to not fit in, sometimes standing out is better because then other people would start to look at you. Even if your standing out alone it only takes one person to look at you, for you to start something new. Now that we are graduating we're starting a whole other chapter of our lives.

We can close the book on this one and open a new book. But this time it's going to be our way. No one is going to write your story for you, only you have to do that. And sometimes you will get stuck or feel like you are in a loop but that's ok. Some of the best writers have writers block and once they come out of that they have one of the most amazing stories ever.

Even if you start out small you always remember that small can lead to big things one day. Smaller steps lead to bigger steps which bigger steps can lead to larger steps. What I mean by that is it's ok for you to take baby steps, at least your trying to do something. This thing called life is hard as shit and I can speak from experience. That's why it's important to have those people around you that have your best interest at heart.

Find those people and cherish them because you'll never know what will happen as you both grow up and start your lives. Only time will tell if you've done something meaningful with your life the next time we all see each other. The people who I've become very fond with know that I love them dearly.

With that being said we are freaking graduating and that is something no one can ever take from us. Throughout the hard days, easy days, arguments, fights, and everything we all made it out of this together. Except for 2 people the rest of y'all can kiss my ass buh congrats class of 2022.'

I ended my speech and people erupted in cheers and claps. Some students were laughing especially about what I said but it's all true. I hate and still hate everyone expect my boys. I walked back to my seat and kept getting "good job" and praises.

I took my seat and the other people who were selected we giving their speech as well. I put my head down and started playing with my fingers. A habit I picked up.

I started to think about how my life was before and where I am right now. It's amazing how things turned out for me.

I picked my head up once they were done saying their speeches. I started to look around the field and that's when I see something.

I look towards Hades and Darrius but there to busy acting like kids to each other. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths.

Ok that was no one your just tired and you need sleep.

I opened my eyes and turned back to where it was and it was gone.

You know what no your not gonna do this, it's your day and you should relax and enjoy this celebration.

Subby was right- it is my day and I'm not gonna let anyone take that away from me.

They started calling our names to get our diploma. Darrius was first since his last name started with a B.

I was second since my last name started with an M and Hades was last since his last name started with a R.

They kept doing this until the last person finally got their diploma, took a picture and got back to their seat.

Once the audience started to "calm" down the principal spoke.

'Can all the graduates please stand'

Every one of us stood up.

'Please move your tassels from right to left'

'CONGRATULATIONS CLASS OF 2022 GRADUATES'

Cheers erupted, we threw our hats in the sky, and we screamed.

I ran to my boys and hugged them both. After we broke out of our hug I hugged Darrius first. And then I turned around and hugged Hades.

'We did it bitches were officially high school graduates' Darrius said.

I leaned my head onto Hades and he wrapped his arm around me.

'And just think how we all started here and look where we are now' I said.

We did it, we finally graduated.
