"Be ready when we land!" Kyoko said to Munakata over the phone. Once she hung up, she returned to her friends, who were huddled around Makoto. "How is he doing?"
"He's breathing pretty unsteady," Hina said. She glanced at Byakuya, whose hands had been on Makoto's major wound since they boarded the helicopter. "Um...is it bad?"
"The bleeding is slow as long as pressure is maintained. The moment I move, we need to be quick," Byakuya said, eyes focused on his hands and the blood covering his fingers.
"Trade places with me," Kyoko demanded.
"No."
"Byakuya, you will need medical attention as soon as we get back to headquarters, too."
"I'm not going to move."
Kyoko seethed silently until the helicopter began to land. Along with the gurney that appeared at the door, Toko was waiting. "What happened?!" She asked, waiting for anyone to answer.
"Makoto saved Byakuya from getting attacked by a Monokuma, but got hurt in the process," Kyoko explained. She watched Seiko take Byakuya's place in holding Makoto's wound closed, leaving Byakuya standing with blood-soaked hands. She shook her head. She couldn't understand what the hell had happened between them hating each other to this sudden companionship.
Unsurprisingly, Byakuya had still been injured, despite Makoto taking most of the damage. Although the damage was superficial, Kyoko made a point of not being kind by removing the tiny bits of metal.
Byakuya winced as Kyoko yanked another small piece of metal from his arm, "What is going on with you, might I ask? Since you are so interested in the events of my life."
"What the hell is going on between you two? Did you rope us all into your relationship issues?" Kyoko asked, setting the tweezers aside.
"What are you talking about?" Byakuya took the tweezers and resumed undoing the damage himself.
Kyoko smirked, "You have no idea what is happening here, do you? We've been here for a few months, and Makoto is actually arguing with you when he hardly raises his voice with the rest of us."
"What the hell are you talking about?" Byakuya's eyes were wide. His hand was frozen, with the tweezers clamped over a piece of metal, yet digging it further into his skin. He didn't even notice, nor flinch.
"Did you two remember a memory of a previous argument? Or just something that happened between the both of you?" Kyoko asked. It was true that memories had been resurfacing for everyone in their group, as the effects of Junko's memory erasure wore off. "You and Makoto started arguing two weeks ago now. You almost refuse to look at each other, or be in the same room."
A knock interrupted the conversation. "Hey, he's awake and okay!" Hina, Hiro, and Toko stood in the doorway. "Uh...is everything okay? You both look really tense."
"We're fine," Byakuya said. He quickly yanked out the last few stray pieces of Monokuma from his arms and left the group in the infirmary room.
"Hey, how are you doing?" Kyoko asked from the doorway of Makoto's room in the infirmary. Seiko nodded at him and left silently, scooting past Kyoko.
"I'm okay. Seiko said the damage wasn't as bad as we thought." He glanced down at the bandage around his torso. "Is Byakuya okay?"
Kyoko nodded, "A few minor cuts. Thanks to you. But you're also a complete idiot for doing something so reckless."
