Listening to the sad sobs of the woman who believes herself to be my mother.

Frozen like an icicle, I permit her to have her moment. She must have loved her daughter very much.

Then walked in a Husky man, he stared at us with tears glistening in his eyes. He peels off the lady off my stiffened body, still unsure how to comfort her with my arms open-mid air. I wish not to overstep, relived at his timing savoury he enclosed her in a tight hug gently brushing her back to soothe her down.

His features are indistinguishable from mine, though his skin is more tanned. My heart batters faster.

His gaze meets mine and suddenly, his eyes quiet the storm in me, as the confusion dies down.
I feel the connection to him a link to answers I never scoured for afraid for my safety, predominantly Gogos's security, but here stood my navigator to my true self. The thought sends my heart on a marathon. Stretching out his arm, I find myself striding toward him.

We compound closely, like perfect molecules. Raising my gaze, I notice Gogo standing by the door with a smile of affirmation.

I need not marvel no more; she is not dead. She is here bound in this compacting hug No, slow down your thoughts, maybe it's not, so but my heart wishes for the absurd for the deceased. The mother, who was killed by a mob and possibly burnt alive. Could this be her, my mom? No, that's impossible.

Snapping my neck back, I heard her voice in my head, her laughter giving me a migraine.

Crouching down, I massaged my temples. "I am close. I am coming," she snickered, her wicked laugh sending me to my knees groaning in pain.

The cottage became frigid. "Stay the fuck away from her," Mqhele's speech echoed, terror draping everyone as it sounded like two were talking.

Trotting to me, coating my quivering body.
"Oh Grim reaper, is that you? How foolish, is it, love? How does it feel to meet your doom? Cackling.

"Is she possessed?" shooting their gazes at the door, stood Queen Imani.

"Mother, not now," he shot at her a venomous stare.

"Oh, but I am only asking." mockery sprinkled her words.

Raising to my feet, the earth beneath swivelled
I shut my eyes to steady myself.

"Please get me out of here" I motioned to Gogo with my vision waving making me dizzier.

Emotions kicked in. For years, I breathed in fear, because of this woman, not any more.

"You can't leave, she is coming after you" Mqhele sought to reason, binding me into place.

"Worry not about me but your wife" I tried so hard not to sound hurt. He was never mine, he couldn't even label what we are.

Storming out, I crashed into someone.
"Sorry," I mumbled, continuing on my watery path. Now I could taste the sea salt on my lips.

The young man gawked at Niya until he sensed Mqhele behind him. Taking in all her excellence, he drew a deep breath before he spoke.

"I recognize your infatuation with her," he asserted coldly, then turning to him.
"Consider this your last warning, Demon. Your kind doesn't lust after her species"
