130. Alec Volturi - Grief

You seemed to be the last person to find out about what Sam did. It was Demetri who broke the news because he was the 'more compassionate one'. Sam was your brother and the only family you had left. You entrusted him the secret of vampires but as soon as he found out you were dating one, it all fell apart. Thinking back, you wondered if Sam would have safer if he didn't know. In the strangest way, he didn't have a problem with vampires, things only got sour when your relationship with Alec got much more serious. He didn't like Alec.

Hearing that he told some, just about killed you. You couldn't bring yourself to say anything but one sentence. "No one is killing my brother." You stuck through to the end on that statement but you couldn't move when the moment came. Demetri and Felix held him by the arms and Aro snapped his neck. As soon as you heard the snap your body lurched forward, a horrible sick feeling over coming you.
You slapped your hand over your mouth and rushed out the door. You sprinted to the nearest bathroom, slammed the door shut and locked it. You barely had a second before the contents of your stomach came up.
You barely caught the sound of Alecs hands make a thud against the door from behind you.

Alec was leaning with both hands on the door. Jane watched as her brother was stoic as his irises shifted, hearing his mate sob hysterically and vomiting behind the door. Alec said nothing because he knew nothing he could say would comfort you. He knew that as far as you were concerned, your life was ruined. Jane looked down at the door knob staying quiet, sparing a glance to Demetri who was behind Alec. Alec did nothing but listen to your wracking sobs which left Jane and Demetri uncertain as what to do.
Felix came up behind them keeping his voice low. "Aro found out he did tell someone but that they didn't believe him."
That was the last thing they wanted to hear. It meant they now had no justification as to why to kill you brother and that you were in so much pain...no real reason.
"What to we tell them?" Demetri asked quietly.
"Nothing." Alec finally said and the three guards turned to him. "Make sure no one says a word about that, as though we never found out. Don't tell (Y/N) under any circumstances."
They spoke quietly so you couldn't hear them. Felix nodded and stepped back before leaving once again. Alec closed his eyes for a moment, trying to find some kind of peace whilst your hysteric crying and vomiting only continued.

After it had gone quiet, Alec entered the bathroom. You were curled up beside the toilet. Your eyes were puffy as you sniffed profusely. He bent down to your level, brushing back your hair, his cool hand against your hot forehead. "What can I do for you?"
You remained quiet, your eyes moving to him in completely disbelief, unable to believe you could talk.
Alec continued. "You need me." He held out his hand, watching you as he waited for you to take it. After a moment, you took his hand and he hauled you up, wrapping an arm around you. He grabbed was quick to grab at the nearby tissues wiping around your mouth and another to wipe your nose. He quietly asked you to rinse your mouth with water and you silently did so. He had another tissue at the ready to wipe your eyes.

You didn't really notice him steer you out the room, Demetri and Jane watching you both leave before silently falling behind.
Next thing you know you were in the kitchen. "Do you want to eat something? You were in there for a while." Demetri asked. You found your voice after a moment. "If I eat anything, I'll puke it back up." You rasped.
"Then let me get you some water-please?" Alec added the please once you had begun to shake your head. You gave in and took the glass of water. You looked at it for a moment before slowly raising it to your lips.
Just before it could touch, your eyes screwed shut as a wave of sobs wracked your body. You put down the glass.
"I can't believe he's gone." You managed out. After a few minutes of crying it turned into anger. You stood up from the bar stool, water long forgotten. "I just stood there! I just stood there and watched! I did nothing!"
Alec was quick to respond. "It isn't your fault. There is nothing you could have done. We'd have to restrain you if you did anything else."
You mumbled to yourself, wondering why your brother broke the one rule he had.
"My love, please drink the water." Alec put a hand on your shoulder. Once again, you shakily brought the glass to your lips. Alec squeezed your shoulder under his hand. "Thank you." He said quietly.
