When we got back down to the ground, Anna was immediately taken away to the hospital. Warwick was sitting on a gurney outside of an ambulance. I was speaking to Captain Chu about what happened up there. He was wondering why I didn't have any equipment on.

I was about to explain what one of the doctors from the ambulance called me over. "Patient wants to talk with you,"

Chu followed me over. "Lieutenant Warwick, how are you doing?"

"Good, thanks to Rosa," Warwick said. "She seems to be a pretty good detective,"

"Thanks," I muttered. "What's up, you wanted to talk with me?"

"Yeah, I wanted to tell you that that plan of yours was incredible," Warwick said. "I would have never done that,"

19 minutes earlier...

"Okay, here's the plan..." I started. "I'm going to strip myself of gear, no guns, no vest, no badge, no knives,"

"Knives?" Anna said in a panicky stage whisper. "Since when are police allowed to wield a knife? Nonetheless multiple?!"

"Anna, shut up," I hissed. "I'm going to pretend to be drunk, stumble in. They'll probably check me for weapons, badges, anything that could be used against them. When they don't find anything, they'll probably toss be aside. Hopefully, they won't think I'm too much of a problem, so they won't tie me up,"

"And if they do?" Warwick asked.

"I'll break out," I scoffed. "Duh. You'll sneak in behind me, hide behind furniture or something. I'll flirt with one of them, whichever one is closest, get them angry, worked up. If all goes according to plan, he'll probably do something to shut me up, whether it be punching me or kicking me or just screaming at me, I don't know. I'll try and get them close to me so the remaining shooter is alone. When I call my guy baby, you'll jump up and attack the guy closest to you,"

"Baby?" Warwick said tentatively. "I've known you for a couple of hours, and I seriously can't imagine you calling anyone baby,"

"It's 'cause I don't. Ever," I said quickly. "While the one dealing with me is distracted by your attack, I'll take him out as fast as possible..." I hesitated to tell Warwick the next part of my plan.

"Earth to Rosa?" Warwick waved his hand in front of my face. I slapped it away.

"Okay, you're not going to like this," I told him. "I need you to let him overtake you," Warwick gaped at me. "If he thinks he's won, I'll try to get him to let you go and surrender. If that works, which it probably won't we're done, you'll arrest him and we bring 'em in. If it doesn't work-- when it doesn't work, you'll get out of it,"

"How?" Warwick asked.

I took off my left boot and revealed a strap with a knife attached. "Put this on your leg. While I'm talking to him, slip it into your hand,"

"Then what?" Warwick took off his own boot and strapped the weapon on as I put my shoe back on.

"You do what you need to do," I said. "Stab him in the foot, in the eye, the chest, the arm, whatever gets you out of his hold. If you're able to, take him down and cuff him. If not, I'll get him to the ground and cuff him. If on the off chance he's able to run before we get him, Anna will shoot him," I locked eyes with Anna. "Right, Anna?"

"Right," Anna said, her voice shaky.

I looked at Warwick. "That's the plan. Don't defer from it, don't change it,"

"Let's do it," He nodded and moved his gun to his back to help me get all my gear off.

I put my pistol and taser down on the carpeted hallway floor. I gently placed my extendable sticks on the floor and Warwick gave me a weird look. They weren't police-issued weapons, but I didn't have time to explain. The pepper spray I had strapped to my belt was also put in the pile of weapons. I took out my two remaining knives and left them on the floor, putting them down carefully. I dropped my badge into the pile and took off the belt that held all of my items. Warwick reached over and un-Velcroed the right side of my vest as I undid the left. He and I cringed at the sound it made. After undoing it, we both froze to listen for the shooters... thankfully they didn't hear.

I took off my vest and took my hair out of the ponytail it was in. I ruffled it and messed around with it, creating tangles I knew I would regret. It didn't take much to make my curly hair look screwed up. I untucked my shirt and unbuttoned one of the buttons. I rolled up one of my sleeves as messy as I could. I was already sweating, so that worked for me.

"You ready?" I asked the two.

"Yes, ma'am,"

"As I'll ever be," Anna nodded.

I began to stumble towards the door. Here we go...
