Two Weeks Later...

I walked into the hospital. I had a small bouquet of flowers in my hand. I walked up to the front desk and asked the woman, "Here for Anna Perry? She's a police officer,"

"Name?" She asked, typing.

"Rosa Diaz," I answered.

After a moment of typing and reading, she said, "Room 107, on the right," I nodded in thanks to her and then walked down the hallways she had pointed at.

I looked at the doors on the right side until I got to one that had a little plaque next to it that read 107. I knocked on the door.

"Come in," She said. I opened the door and slipped inside, gently closing the door behind me. "Rosa! Hey!"

I gave her a short smile. "Hi," I awkwardly held up the flowers. I silently put them on the table beside her. "I just thought... uh, you know... flowers,"

Anna laughed. "Yeah, flowers. Thanks,"

I nodded. "So, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing great now, the doctors say I can go home within the next couple of weeks," Anna said as I pulled up a chair. "But the first couple of days were rough. I was recovering from surgery-- they removed the bullet successfully-- and it was pretty touch-and-go, according to the doctors. I wasn't healthy enough to have visitors at first, but then I began to get better! My squad came to visit, my mom, my dad, and my brother! Even Jackson and Hilbert came to say hi. Warwick took a little longer, probably because of his own injury, but he dropped off some food. He didn't say anything, but it's the sentiment that counts. Captain Chu said that you should have come by then, but you hadn't, so..."

"Yeah..." I sighed. "Sorry. I got a case the day after, and the guy kept escaping. I know it sounds like an excuse, but--"

"No!" Anna said. "It's fine! Did you get him?"

"Just yesterday, yeah," I nodded. "Uh, hey,  so Jackson gave me these tickets for a really good shooting range after it all happened, said that he couldn't go so I should take someone from my precinct," She nodded. "It was last weekend, and because of the case I just told you about, I couldn't go. But there's one every month,"

"So you'll be able to go again, no problem!" Anna smiled.

"Yeah, I know," I said. "I was actually wondering if... maybe once you get better, once you're able to move your arm around pretty good, would you--"

"Yes!" Anna exclaimed. "Oh, God. That is what you were going to ask, right?!"

I froze up. She accepted so quickly. "Uh. Yeah,"

"Then yes!" Anna said happily. She then stopped herself again. "Wait, just so there's no confusion, it's a date, right?"

I widened my eyes at her comfortableness. "Yeah...?"

"Good, that's what I thought," Anna sighed in relief. "I've been out for a while, but every time I ask a girl out, they say no. Sometimes I wonder if it's because of my voice or because I talk too much, but when they ask me out, it goes great! And then she'll cheat on me with another woman which sucks but whatever,"

"So..." I said slowly. "You're a lesbian?"

"Yeah," Anna nodded. "Are you not a lesbian?"

"No," I shook my head and she frowned. "I'm bisexual,"

"Oh, well okay then," She said calmly. "I've never met anyone who's bi before. Cool! So, I'll probably have full mobility near the beginning of August, so maybe buy tickets for that one? Or September, that works too. I don't know, you just buy the tickets for sometime after July and then tell me and I'll--"

"Shut up!" I snapped.

She looked at me with disbelief. "Wh-What? I thought... Oh, god, it is because I talk too much! I'm so sorry! You can go if you want, and I know that Chu told you to come and visit me but It's fine, you don't have to do that anymore--"

"Shut up so I can kiss you!" I said angrily and leaned in, pressing my lips against hers. I pulled back roughly. "God..."

"Why are you stopping?" Anna asked slowly.

I looked at her and smirked. I leaned back in and kissed her again, this time for longer.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. We pulled away and the doctor came in. "Hey, Anna! Oh, hello there. You are?" He asked me.

"Rosa Diaz," I said, shaking his hand. "I'm her... someone," Anna smiled at me.

"Okay, well, visiting hours just ended," the doctor said politely. "But don't be afraid to come back tomorrow,"

I looked back at Anna. "See you tomorrow, then,"

"Bye, Rosa!" Anna waved with her good arm as I left the room.

"Bye,"
