Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay hope you enjoy!
Medda Larkin always had a strong sense of contempt for noise in the middle of the night. The strange alluring noises of the night led the woman to fear the covert melody of the dark.
When a sharp rap struck the back door of Medda's theater, the woman cautiously approached the door. She had been working on a new melodious piece for her next infamous concert. However, the knock had stunned the woman right out of her imagination and back into the spinning reality.
Swinging the door open, Medda came face to face with a panting Spot Conlon holding a ghastly pale Dusty. Dusty's complexion resembled the whitewashed walls of the room and her blue-tinted lips were illuminated by the gas lamps that occupied the small room.
"Hurry in, hurry in"! Proclaimed Medda, taken aback by the current scenario.
Spot Conlon looked extremely distraught as he placed the shivering girl on the worn out couch.
"Medda, you's gotta help us! I's don't know what to do or what I'd do if anything happened". The boy trailed off as he stared at the feeble girl who was fading by the minute.
"Please you's gotta do something". Spot begged the red haired goddess for mercy.
"Spot, run, get the doctor who lives at the very end of 13th street". Muttered Medda darkly while surveying the anguishing girl.
Spot sprinted out into the cold night air. Sputtering, breathless, the usual steely dark eyes which held mischief held another connotation tonight. His misty cobalt eyes held undertones of worry and uncontrollable fear.
As Spot scrambled down the shaded streets of the illustrious Manhattan he bumped into an unidentifiable figure. This "unidentified figure" gave out a loud groan and started to indignantly yell.
"Hey yous may think yous is the only one that has a place to be..."
But Spot cut him off by sighing angrily and exclaiming, "Skittery shut it, I's have somewhere very important to get to". Then Skittery said something that made Spot's blood run cold and stop in his tracks.
"Oh is yous helping us look for her as well"?
Medda Larking never had a knack for dealing with the ill and ailing. Her motherly charms masked her disgust of germs and anything associated with them. However, she gulped down her dismay and settled on reducing Lissy's fever. Ringing out an old washcloth, the woman set down onto her work. Placing the cool relief on the beautiful girl's forehead, Medda heard yet another knock on her door.
Assuming it was Spot with a doctor secured, Medda raced to open the door. Nonetheless, the bright smile disappeared from her wrinkless face when she saw a familiar head of blond hair smirking down at her.
"Ms. Larkin, I've got the sheet music you've requested." Resonated the melodic voice of Thomas Lemieux.
Thomas Lemieux had a beautiful crooked smile which made girls walking down the streets of Manhattan swoon. His sharp facial features flawlessly gave the impression of a greek god carved out of stone. With deep dark hazel pools and flowing blond locks, girls flocked from all over New York to see this opulent specimen.
Barging into the room, deaf to Medda's complaint, Thomas rambled on in his usual joking manner.
" I should get some sort of reward for finding this sheet music. You know this is prime supply, I think we'd all agree that three dollars would suffice...."
The blond boy's jesting stopped when his deep copper eyes rested on the young lady resting on the jade couch.
"Lissy..."
