Since Thomas arrived with the box, you couldn't take your eyes off of him. He quickly became your crush, but there was one thing: He didn't talk to you. He even seemed to ignore you and purposely tried to avoid you, breaking your heart a bit.

Newt was the only one who knew about your crush and just didn't get why Thomas wouldn't talk to you. Newt was your best friend, but also Thomas' friend. He knew how Thomas was and this wasn't really something he saw him do. Newt always tried to get Thomas to talk to you, but Thomas would immediately leave when he saw you or when you opened your mouth.

You were also the only girl in the Glade, so many boys asked you out, but you always said no. The boy you actually wanted couldn't even stand seeing you.

Today was again a day that Thomas completely avoided you. Alby had asked you both to get some wood from the forest, but when Thomas saw he needed to get it with you, he left, leaving you alone with the task. You bit your tongue, trying not to cry. Why did he act like that to you? He was nice to everyone, why couldn't he be nice to you too?

You decided you did needed to get the wood for Alby so you walked into the forest, collecting some branches. You walked around the forest for longer than needed but halted when you heard a concerned shout.

"Shebean, where are you!?" You looked up and saw Newt, who quickly sprinted up to you. "I was worried, why were you taking so long?" You shrugged but felt tears burn behind your eyes. Newt immediately knew something was wrong and quickly hugged you. "What's wrong love?"

You swallowed, still fighting the urge to cry. Talking was difficult, it felt as if there was a lump in your throat. "Was it Thomas again?" Newt asked hesitantly. You could only nod, hugging Newt tighter. You heart him sigh and mumbling something along the lines of 'stupid slinthead'.

"It's okay, he doesn't deserve you. One day he will come to his senses and realize he made a mistake ignoring you."

What you didn't know, was that Thomas was watching from a distance. When he saw you going into the woods alone, to satisfy Alby's wish, he had quickly followed you, wanting to make sure you were okay and nothing would happen to you.

The only reason he always ignored you, was because he was afraid he would mess up talking to you. He really liked you but didn't know what to do to let you know. He had never wanted to hurt you, but it seemed like something did, seeing you were now crying to Newt. Thomas wished he could be the person you would come to when something was wrong, he wanted to help you, protect you, but he didn't see himself worthy of you in the slightest.

Also, you weren't called heartbreaker for nothing. You had rejected almost every Glader, Thomas knew he would probably get rejected as well.

When Newt saw that Thomas was watching he knew what to do. He had noticed that, even though Thomas always ignored you when you were around him, he always seemed to stare at you from a distance. He knew something was there and now was the time to see if that was true.

"It's okay love." He said, the 'love' loud enough for Thomas to hear, before hugging your even tighter, giving you a kiss on the head. You were a bit confused because Newt never did that but you didn't really care, you were happy you had such a good best friend.

Thomas clenched his jaw, hard, and Newt smirked, accomplished. You had stopped crying and Newt was rubbing your back. "You're acting weird blondie, what's going on?" You knew there had to be something, Newt wasn't really affectionate with anyone, not even you.

"Loverboy doesn't seems really happy with me comforting you."

You looked behind you and saw Thomas, looking furious, jaw working. "Oh you sneaky little-" Newt cut you off. "Go get him." He smiled and you rolled your eyes before smiling back. You took a deep breath and walked up to Thomas.

Thomas had a inner panic seeing you come his way but tried to play it cool. "Hi, Thomas." He swallowed and nodded, not making eye-contact. You opened your mouth to say something but Thomas was already walking away, as always.

"Thomas! Get your fucking ass back here!" You were fed up with his horrible attitude, you just wanted to talk.

Thomas halted, shock running through him. You had sounded really mad and he didn't like it. He turned back around and took a few steps towards you, still not looking you in the eye. "What's up Y/N?" You glared at him and huffed, letting him know that he had said something dumb.

"Why won't you just talk to me? Why do you always ignore me? Do you hate me that much?" Thomas' heart clenched painfully when your tone went from angry to sad, and disappointed.

He finally looked at you, causing his heart to break. Tears stood in your eyes, your nose slightly red, shoulders a bit sagged. He hated this, seeing you so sad, and now he was the cause. "No Y/N, I don't hate you, at all. Trust me." You shook your head and bit your lip so hard you almost drew blood.

"Then why do you act like it? I just don't get it! Did I do something wrong, can I do something to make it better? Why-"

"Because I'm in love with you!" Yelled Thomas. You froze in shock. What did he just say? Did he just-

"I am in love with you." He mumbled, quietly this time. You didn't know what to do. Thomas was in love with you? No, if he was you would've noticed. You looked at him skeptically, not believing him. Thomas took a deep breath and repeated once again, "I am in love with you."

You saw that he wanted to continue but you cut him of by letting out a choked sob. Thomas' eyes widened in alarm and he quickly stepped forward and took you in his arms, rubbing your back, holding you tightly.

He loved the feeling of you against him, but he hated the way your shoulders shook with every sob, the trembling of your hands.

He stroke your hair gently. "Baby, don't cry please." Thomas' soft tone calmed you down and you looked up at him with teary eyes, making Thomas pout. "Do you really love me?" Thomas stroke your cheek and kept his hand there, looking deeply in your eyes.

"I do, very much." You smiled and snuggled back in his embrace. "I love you too." Thomas' heart swelled and he smiled down at you, giving you a kiss on your forehead before tightening his arms around you.

Newt looked at you two and let out a small laugh, walking away. You had finally got your man.
