"Wow this is absolutely disgusting." Thomas and Newt were sitting next to you, doubling over from laughing after serving you Gally's secret recipe and you spitting it out the moment you tasted it. You couldn't quite identify what was in it, but you were also sure you would puke if you knew.

"I love new greenies! Thomas remember when we gave you the drink and you had the exact same reaction?" Newt wiped away a tear while a smile rested on his face. "Glad we are amusing to you and she has a name now, so use it." You giggled at Thomas's words and Newt gave you a quick wink. You were so happy when your name, Y/N, finally came back to you. It was for sure nice to know.

It was already getting pretty late and you were very tired. You had a lot to think about. You had helped setting up the bonfire, but Thomas hadn't let you do much, afraid you might hurt yourself in some type of way. You had also gotten to know Newt better and you already liked him a lot, he seemed like a good friend and Thomas trusted him, which also made you trust Newt.

While Newt was getting himself a new drink, you tapped Thomas on the arm. He turned to you, completely ignoring Gally whom he was talking to before you tried getting his attention. "Yes, is there something wrong?" You shook your head, an embarrassed smile on your face. "I-I'm getting pretty tired, is there somewhere I can sleep?"

Thomas nodded slowly, looking you over, making sure you really were okay, just tired. "Well Alby and I didn't really know how-" A high pitched squeak echoed from the, now closed, doors of the Glade, grabbing everyone's attention (Thomas had briefly explained that the walls closed when it got dark).

You grabbed Thomas's arm and moved closer to him, your heart almost beating out of your chest hearing the terrifying screams. "Tommy what was that?" Thomas sighed and half hugged you, standing up and taking you with him. "Come on, I'll explain it to you." You nodded hesitantly and his eyes softened.

"It's okay, you're safe. Do you trust me?" Thomas liked how fast you gave a nod and smiled at you, taking you with him to where everyone slept. "So, I told you that you can never go behind the walls, but I didn't tell you why. Behind the walls, we are surrounded by a maze, that's why we haven't gotten out yet.

"But the worst part are the things inside the maze. We call them grievers and they aren't happy with us entering the maze to search for a exit. We don't know why we are here, or who put us here because we lost our memories, so for now we're stuck." You were in shock, trying to get it all clear. Not only was there no possible escape, but there was a giant maze with monsters named grievers. You swallowed thickly. You weren't really scared before, because you felt safe enough, but now knowing that the things that made that awful sound were all around you?

"And you, you said you all go inside the maze." Thomas nodded, something in his eyes which made you feel like he was the one running in the maze. You staggered on your feet, waves of exhaustion and shock running through you. Thomas quickly grabbed your arms, making sure you wouldn't really fall.

"Do you go inside?" You already knew the answer when Thomas just sighed. "Yes." You could only nod slowly, trying not to show how much this all effected you. You didn't want Thomas to get hurt by the grievers.

"Can I please go to sleep now?" Thomas tugged you with them, a guilty expression visible on his face. He knew he should've waited until at least a few days, but he wanted you to know. He always hated it when the guys kept things from him when he had just arrived, maybe you were the same. But seeing the fear in your eyes made him regret that decision. He hoped this wouldn't effect your sleeping too much.

"Of course. Uhm, Alby is going to make sure you get your own little place to sleep, seeing you're the only girl, but it will take a few days so until then we don't really have a choice. But I made sure you got the hammock in the corner and in between mine and Newt's so you would feel a bit safer."

You were very grateful that they tried to make you feel so comfortable so you just went with it, thanking Thomas while he showed where you would be sleeping.

Thomas admired you, looking at how you lay in your hammock, trying to get comfortable. "Are you going back to the bonfire?" You pulled the covers up to your chin, wanting to get as warm as possible. "I won't if you'll feel better with me staying with you. I don't mind." You felt bad for wanting to keep him there with you. Now that you knew that Thomas had such a hard job, running in the maze, he deserved to relax.

Thomas saw the fight within you and just smiled, also lying down on his hammock, which was directly next to yours. "You know, I'm pretty tired too. I think I'll just stay if that's okay with you." You smiled and nodded. "Of course that's okay." And it really was. You were glad he was with you, you felt safer this way. You were so glad you already had Thomas, even though he was one of the boys he didn't make you feel uncomfortable.

"Thank you for everything Tommy. Goodnight." You closed your eyes and missed the way Thomas's smile widened a small blush spreading across his cheeks. "Of course Y/N, I like having you around." You also smiled, eyes still closed.

Thomas continued to take small glances at you while you slept. He wasn't tired at all and honestly wanted to stay up so he could be there for you if something happened. He knew most of the boys already saw you as one of them, but there were also some who he really didn't trust to not do something shady.

He just needed to be good enough for you and protect you.

So he had to admit he wasn't the best protector. Thomas had fallen asleep and when he woke again all the boys were soundly asleep. He had tried to focus on what had woken him up until his eyes fell on you. You were standing next to his hammock, trying not to let any tears escape, not looking at Thomas.

"Hey what happened? Did one of the boys do something, are you hurt?"  You tried swallowing your tears, which didn't work, while trying to not sound too shaken up. "I-I'm scared Tommy, can I lay with you? Please?" Thomas froze for a second. You wanted to sleep with him? Of course he didn't mind, he just wasn't too sure you really wanted to.

"Are you sure? It's okay for me but won't it make you feel uncomfortable?" You shook your head, a tear escaping. You hoped he wouldn't reject your offer. "Alright then, come on." His smile was a tad bit sad while you crawled into Thomas's hammock next to him, pressed to his side.

"T-thank you. Are you sure-" Thomas shushed you and wrapped one of his arms round you, getting comfortable again. "It's okay princess. Like I said, I like having you with me. Now, do you want to talk about what you are so afraid of?" Tears threatened to fall when your mind flashed back to your nightmare.

You bit your lip harshly while getting even closer to Thomas, grabbing one of his hands while pressing your face in his shirt. Thomas could take a hint, you clearly didn't want to talk about what had happened. He was still a bit concerned though.

"I just want to know if you're hurt and if I can do anything for you?" You took a deep breath, the urge to cry lessening the longer you were pressed into Thomas. "I'm not hurt. Can you just- hold me please?" Thomas's answer was him cuddling closer to you while making sure you had enough space, his arms around you, his chin on top of your head.

"If I can't do anything for you than try and get some sleep alright? We gotta get up early in the morning." You couldn't really move in the position you were laying in so just just muttered a small 'yes' and a 'goodnight'. You fell asleep almost immediately.

"He really snatched her up before we could even introduce ourselves properly."

"Shut up you're going to wake them up!"

"This isn't fair-"

"How is the hammock still hanging?"

"Wake up love birds! It's time to get up!"

Thomas groaned, opening his eyes with a lot of difficulties, immediately noticing you asleep on his chest, his arms around you. He smiled and tightened his hold on you before noticing the gaping boys.

"The fuck you guys looking at?"

"Welp, I think we just lost one of our brothers."
