It was already dark outside when you finally said goodbye to your friend. She lived a few streets away from you, so you had decided to walk, something you regretted the moment you set foot outside. It was freezing cold.

You quickly walked down the path, rubbing your arms a bit. You hadn't even bothered to take a jacket with you, you were only wearing a thin sweater and a pair of nike leggings. You couldn't feel your toes and fingers anymore and just quickened your pace.

After a few minutes of walking, you were almost home, you began hearing sirens in the distance. Alerted you looked up, it would be very coincidental if something decided to happen right now, just when you were walking home. You ignored the sirens, but they only became louder and louder. You could even see the red and blue lights coming from the street next to you. You cursed and just wished you were at home, not freezing your ass off, scared of some police cars.

You shook your head and just continued walking, halting a bit when you heard fast approaching footsteps. You looked behind you and saw a man, a very handsome man, running, the police cars following him from a short distance. Your eyes went wide when you saw him running towards you.

You quickly stepped aside, so he could pass you, but instead he grabbed your hips and pushed you up against the wall next to you, trapping you in between his arms. He gripped your waist with one hand while he planted his other hand above your head. He rested his head in the crook of your neck, his breath tickling your skin. Your hands instinctively went to his chest.

You saw the police car approaching and let out a shaky sigh. They stopped beside you and rolled down their window. "Excuse me ma'am, have you seen someone running this way?" You swallowed when the man's hand tightened on your waist and the police man looked away, seeing the position you were in.

You managed to squeak out a quick 'no', as they nodded and drove off again, the red and blue lights fading. The man pulled his head back from your neck, yet keeping it close, inches away from your flustered face. He smirked seeing your expression.

"I'll be seeing you again Darling." Your eyes grew even wider, a blush making its way onto your face, hearing the name he gave you. He quickly kissed your heated cheek and winked at you, before running away. Leaving you standing there, dazed and confused about what had just happend.

It was a week after, the incident. You were walking home again, exhausted from a long day of working at the local coffee shop. When you reached your house, you quickly unlocked the door and went in, throwing your bag on the floor and kicking your shoes off. Your rubbed your eyes, yawning, making your way up to your room.

You opened the door, your eyes growing wide when you saw a man standing in your room, casually looking through you books. He turned around when he heard your door opening and you gasped when you saw who it was. It was the guy who was running from the police.

"W-what are you doing here?" You stammer, while he looked at you, amusement glinting in his eyes. His eyes raked down your body, checking you out, before returning to your face.

"Well I said I would be back, didn't I Darling?" You shook your head in disbelief. You didn't know whether to be scared, angry or flustered. "I don't even know you, can you please leave?" The man chuckled, looking at your room again. "Sorry can't do that love, I need a place to stay and you helped me before, no?"

You glared at him, making his smile widen. "You forced me to help you, I lied to a police officer because of you, not out of free will you idiot!" The guy only smiled at you, making you even more frustrated.

You rubbed your temples. "You can't be here..." you trailed of, not knowing his name. "Mitch, Mitch Rapp." You nodded at his answer. "Well, you can't be here Mitch." He shook his head, sitting down on the covers of your bed. "Just for a few days? The police is still looking for me." You sighed. "That's exactly the reason you can't stay, I don't wanna get in trouble because of you."

"I promise you won't get in trouble, it is only for a few days, then I will take my leave. Please." You locked eyes with him and groaned before giving in. "Fine, but only a few days." Mitch's eyes lit up and he quickly walked over to you, pecking your cheek, just like last time, before making his way downstairs.

"I knew you would eventually cave Love!" He slightly yelled, walking into your kitchen. You shook your head, following Mitch, only to find him leaning against your counter, a spoon in his mouth, trying to open a pack of yogurt.

"Mitch!" He looked up, innocently, the spoon half hanging out of his mouth, looking at you with question. "You can't just- forget it." You narrowed your eyes at him, sighing when he didn't manage to open the yoghurt. You took it from him, making him let out a sound of protest, before opening it and giving it back.

He took the spoon out of his mouth and smiled again, dimples popping out. "Thank you Darling, but I could've easily done it myself." You looked at him skeptically, not believing him one bit, before taking a seat on one of the kitchen chairs.

"How did you know where I lived?" Mitch shrugged, continuing to eat his yogurt before answering. "Followed you, wasn't that hard really." You slowly nodded your head. "If you are going to be living here, I do have a few rules." You stated. Mitch only nodded, looking at you to continue. "You need to help me around the house, take care of your own stuff and I want to know why the police is after you."

Mitch nodded again, grinning. "As you wish Princess." You shook your head at him. "And stop with the nicknames, I don't like it." Mitch looked at you with raised eyebrows, a teasing smile playing on his lips. "You sure Love? Your cheeks say otherwise, such a pretty shade of pink."

You turned around, embarrassed, blushing even more, making Mitch chuckle again. "I'll help you of course," He pointed his spoon at you, "Not stopping with the pet names by the way, and why the police is after me? Well, Darling, I may or may not have stolen some jewels, nothing to big." You blinked, staring at him in disbelief. "What? Why?" Mitch shrugged, taking another spoon of yoghurt. "Just felt like it." You shook your head, deciding not to question it, before narrowing your eyes at him.

"I swear if you steal something out of my house I will have your head Rapp." Mitch looked at you with a devilish smirk, keeping intense eye-contact, making you squirm. "Liking the nickname, would prefer hearing you say my first name again though."

"Rapp it is then." You looked up at him with raised eyebrows, because he still hadn't said anything about the stealing, which made him roll his eyes. "I promise I won't steal anything Princess. You think very lowly of me." You just snorted, walking out of the kitchen, to the living room.

Mitch could only follow your figure, grinning, he surely was going to enjoy the next few days.
