"Emu?? Are you okay??"
I asked worried. The girl was crying into my lap as soon as she ran into the classroom. I looked down at her to see her skirt on the floor, spread out with little dirt patches.

"Are you okay??"

"I ruined it."

"H-Huh??"

"The show."

"There was a show??"

"Yesterday. I forgot to invite you i'm sorry, i got carried away talking to tsukasa-kun." She said sadly, looking up at me.

"Oh.. It's okay." I smile lightly, placing a hand on her cheek.

"Do you wanna tell me what happened?"

"I'm so selfish. I'm such a horrible person."

"WHA-HUH??"

"All i ever wanted was to make people smile. But I put my friends through this stupid play, forcing them to make the crowd happy, without realizing i was making them unhappy. I am so selfish. What's the point in making people smile if i'm hurting my own friends by doing it.....?"

"Emu..."

"I told my dad that I gave up."

"WHA- EMU!!" i pulled both of her shoulders to look at me.

A part of me broke, seeing her break down like that.

That's a side i've never seen of her before.

She looked at me, teary eyed, hopeful for some words to spill out.

But i couldn't.

I only hugged her. I tried so hard to spit it out, but i could only compliment her.

"Emu you're the most incredible person i've ever met. You've saved me from suicide like what 10 times?? And not only were you there for me when i needed it, but you would always come through. You made my life ten times happier. I feel complete with you. From the day you helped me with that poem, to now. I've relized i have such a good friend. And not only that, but you manage to keep your priorities straight and won't hesitate to be honest in the kindest way. You push through and make so many people smile. I just wish you could see it. And it hurts seeing you break down like this. Seeing you giving up on the thing i wishes to do. You have so much potential, a group, friendship bonds, a stage, costumes. That's enough for anything to happen. Don't let this one accident hurt you. It's not worth it i promise, you're gonna go back and wish 'dang i wish i kept pushing on.' And i get it. It feels overwhelming right now because of the amount of pressure you were in, but i promise you. I don't think any of your friends hate you. And i 100% back that up as a fact. You're amazing Emu. Don't let your grandpa's stage be destroyed for one failure. You know what they say. You can fail 100 times, but you only really need to win once. They will understand where you're coming from and what you tried to do once they hear you say it."

Emu looked into my eyes and smiled, as she pulled me in for a hug. I reciprocated the hug, inhailing in her cookie dough scent.

"You should go talk to everyone."

"Don't ruin the moment Y/n."

[[you can skip, this is just what happens in the games main story, and i thought it was cute and could be like a part 2 so i added it!!]]

"We're getting pretty high up now."
Emu glances up at Tsukasa.

"Oh, look down over there, Tsukasa-kun!"
"Hm? Where? Ah, the Wonder Stage. Seen from above, it's in a really nice location, surrounded by greenery." Tsukasa sweats.
"Yes! Grandpa built the stage there precisely because of that!" Emu smiled.

"Your grandpa did? Wait a seccond... Are you saying your grandpa built Phoenix Wonderland?!"
"Yeah."
"B-But wait... Otori... That's the name of the family who owns the Phoenix Group! You're super rich! Why on earth were you even working on that tiny stage?!"

"You see... Grandpa passed a year ago."

"..."

"I'm sorry..."
"Dad said then that we should have that stage demolished and a new one built in its place, because it was old and maintenance cost too much."
Emu looked up at him, smiling sincerely.

"But Grandpa liked that stage so much!
I wanted to save it so i asked Dad to spare it. He said that we could keep it if i could make it popular enough so that it would turn into a profit. He gave me until the spring break to do it."
"Wh-Why didn't you tell me all this right from the start?!"

"Because we were all so busy preparing the show. Grandpa told me that you need diverse troupe for a good show, and at least one of them has to be committed to helping all the others talents shine."

"But now it's time to give up!"
"Hm?"
"Today i'm saying bye bye to the Wonder Stage!"
"No, why would you do that? Isn't it terrible important to you??? You wanted to save it!"

"I did, but...
it was selfish, because it only made you all unhappy. Making people smile is the most important thing. That's what Grandpa told me."
"That's why you're giving up?"
".....
yup."

"Emu, you dummy."
"Huh?"
"You're such a dummy!"
"Whaaat?!"
"Don't you get it? You want to make EVERYONE smile, right?! But you're so sad now you're almost in tears! Wouldn't your grandpa want YOU to be happy too?! We're going to do another show! And this time the audience will love it! I promise you that!"

"Tsukasa-kun, but i thought.."
"I was wrong, and i'm sorry, Emu. Can we please still do shows together?"
"!!"
"Yes! Yes! Let's make everyone smile, Tsukasa-kun! Together!"
She smiled greatly, a glint of hope in her eyes.

"That's the plan, Emu."
