  Emily's POV
I sit on the porch of one of the huts waiting for Liam to come back. I know I should rest, but my mind is too preoccupied with him. I want to make sure he's alright. I don't know if he ran all the way back to the pack lands or if he's running around in the desert.
"Come back." I try to reach out to him through mindlink, but I don't hear anything. I look around at the desert village and it looks.. quaint, and sort of nice. I wonder what it's like when it's full of people.
"Em." I hear Liam and stand up. I see him walking up to the hut in a random pair of shorts. I get up and hug him.
"I'm so sorry Liam." I say. He hugs me back.
"I'm sorry I ran away from you. I just didn't want you to see me so angry." He says.
"It's ok. Im glad you came back. Liam you have to let me be there for you."
"I know." He hugs me tighter. He pulls back from me.
"Is everyone still resting?" He asks. The sun was still up, but not for much longer.
  "Yes."
  "Have you rested?"
  "No."
"Come on, anyone in here?" He asks. I just shake my head. We walk in, which is a little weird to walk into someone's home.
"Where did you get those shorts?" I ask.
"I found them. But I'm going to need some new clothes." He says.
"Well I'm not gonna just go through someone else's home. I'm going to lay on the couch for a bit." I say.
"Ok I'm going to snoop around." Liam says. I lay on the couch, and I must have been exhausted because I don't even remember falling asleep. Liam wakes me up.
"Come on Em. We need to meet everyone." I get up and we meet everyone in front of the Luna's house.
"Are we ready to meet up with the others?" Sia asks.
"I believe so." I turn to the Luna.
"Thank you for your help." I say.
"Just help my pack. They don't deserve this." She says. I nod and we get ready to run back through the mountains. We race through and we don't stop until we reach the pack lands border.
"How much further?" Tony asks out of breath.
"We are only a few miles from my old pack lands." I mention. I know it might be hard for Liam to return back home, but it might also be good for him. And if the Alpha and Luna are dead, and my father is dead, then who is running the pack? A few of us look to Liam to gauge his reaction.
"We can see. I don't know who's running the pack now." He says. It is a short run to our pack lands. We decide to approach slowly, but there isn't much movement. It's early morning, but still, someone should be out.
"Carol?" I reach out to her in mindlink.
"Emily? Oh my goddess Emily! I thought you died. Where are you?" I hear her.
"We're here on the pack lands. Where is everyone?" I ask.
"YOU'RE HERE! Meet me at the pack house." She says.
"Let's go to the pack house." I say out loud. We walk towards the pack house and I see Carol and Jacob standing next to her. Her face lights up when she sees me, but concerned when she sees everyone else.
"Hold back guys. Liam come on." I say. We walk up to Carol and Jacob. When we are closer Carol comes out and hugs me. Then she starts to cry, more like sob, on my shoulder. I just hold her. What happened here while we were gone?
"Carol what happened?" I ask. She composes herself and pulls back.
"Everything just fell apart so quickly." She says.
"After Beta Max died, the pures took every eligible warrior in the pack, and killed anyone who refused to comply. When the Pures finally left. Most everyone who was here abandoned us for other packs with more security. Then one day Mike showed up. He looked awful, half dead. Luther showed up and killed the Alpha and Luna in front of him. Colton told Mike to leave. Mike just looked like a shell of a person. He just walked into the forest, I don't know what happened to him. After that with no leader, more of the pack left. There's only a few of us now." Carol says.
"Why did you stay?" I ask.
"For you." She says. And I could not hold back my tears any longer. Like a dam breaking tears stream down my face.
"Oh Carol." I hug her tight. I feel like I have just run from battle after battle, but it looks like I wasn't the only one. I hear Jacob clear his throat. I try to compose myself this time.
"Who are your friends?" Jacob asks.
"They are part of my army." I say.
"Your army?" Carol asks. I wave them over.
"Yes, how do I explain everything that's happened since I left here?"
"Why don't we get everyone settled first then we can talk about it." Liam suggests. Carol hugs Liam. Jacob let's put a small growl.
"Oh sorry. I'm just so happy to see you too. And you guys together. Sorry. The warrior house is empty." Carol says, taking a step closer to Jacob. Marcus and Tony walk up.
"That building there. Everyone can rest up in. We will set out at nightfall." I say. Tony runs back to the group.
"Carol and Jacob, this is Marcus." I introduce him.
"Nice to meet you. So this is your pack, a bit sparse." Marcus says.
"Let's go inside." I say. We walk into the pack house and it's so odd and quiet.
"Do you guys have any food?" Marcus asks.
"Right through there is the cafeteria. Check the fridge." Carol says.
"So what happened to you guys?" Carol asks. I take a seat in an arm chair.
"My mom and I left after the announcement after I saw Luther kill Brody. My real dad showed up and took me back to Miranda's."
  "Real dad?" Jacob asks.
"Yeah, he's a vampire. His name is Cyran." Liam adds.
"Anyways. While I'm there I find Liam in the woods, along with Mike. Mike tries to force mark me, but my body rejected it. We decided to leave Miranda's and travel to the Millerborg. It was a mountain stronghold of the Dawn of the Tribrid ."
  "The Tribrid?" Jacob asks.
"Carol did you not tell him anything?" I ask.
"Emily is the Tribrid. She's part witch, wolf, and vampire. Go on Em."
"We reach the mountain and spent a few months there while I trained as a witch. That's when I came and visited you."
"How did you do that?" Jacob asks.
"I helped her." Marcus says walking into the room with a sandwich.
"Not now. Anyways, then we were attacked by the Pures and the Seekers. I'm guessing that's when Mike escaped, he was a prisoner in the mountain. The pures had two dragons, but we managed to kill one. We escaped the mountain and went to Cyran's manor. Then we went on this quest to get a crystal to help us kill the two dragons and I got hurt on the quest. I guess I was brought back and got kidnapped by the Seekers, who killed me."
  "You died! Does that mean?"
"Yes, I'm the full tribrid now. But during my transition my people got me back."
"We killed two more dragons in the process." Marcus says.
  "Goddess." Carol says.
"Then I was brought to a new hideout, where my vampire grandmother showed up with her vampire army. Now we are on a mission to remake the world in my image." I say.
"Geez and I thought we had it bad. That's insane Em." Carol says.
"I know, and that's not to mention all the people we have lost along the way. When this is over and we have time to sit and think. I'm afraid it's going to hit some people like a brick." Am I referring to myself, or Liam?
"We have lost a lot. Most of the packs are like us. When this is over, I'm not sure how many of us will be left."
  "Great Death." I say.
  "What?" Marcus asks.
"It's part of my prophecy. Great Death."
  "What else?"
  "Great War and Great Fire."
"Have we not had a Great War yet?"
"I don't know. I don't make up the rules on it."
"You guys must be tired. No one has touched your old room. And there are other rooms upstairs for you too Marcus."
"Thanks Carol." I say. I make my way up to my old room. Liam goes to the kitchen to get us some food. I take a shower and wash my hair, and get cleaned up. I'm come out and Liam is getting undressed.
"I brought you some food." He says with a sandwich in his mouth.
"Thanks babe." I say. Liam finishes his sandwich and hops in the shower. I eat my sandwich and lay down on the bed. I fell asleep before Liam even got out of the shower.
