A Day with the Newgates

After dressing in a sun dress, you tossed on some sandals and pulled your hair back into a low ponytail. Quickly grabbing the sunglasses from your counter, you checked your phone. Upon seeing a message from King you quickly made your way down the stairs, right as you stepped to the bottom floor you found yourself face to face with King who stared at you for a second, "I was just on my way up to your apartment."

You smiled, "I appreciate you stopping by, I know you are busy."

He shook his head, "I'll always be happy to lend you a helping hand if I'm able to."

"I was actually wondering if you'd be able to take me out to my parent's grave later this evening, maybe around 5 or 6? Whenever you close the Tattoo Shop would be fine."

"That'd be fine, I'll take you out there. Any reason why you aren't driving yourself though?"

Rubbing the back of your neck you smiled sheepishly, "Honestly, I need to do a tune up on my bike before I take it out to the cemetery, anything further than the garage would be a bad idea right now."

He shook his head as he looked at you, "For someone who cares about that bike more than her own life I'm surprised to hear that."

"What can I say I've been a bit distracted lately I suppose."

Luffy came flying through the doors with Ace right behind him, both of them came to a halt though when they saw you standing there talking to King. Ace looked over at Luffy who seemed just as surprised as he was, Thatch walked in through the doors and was about to say something when Ace flung his hand over his mouth and pointed over towards you.

"Do you think he is asking her on a date? She's dressed up which is strange enough..."

"Even if he is you should mind your own business, Ace. It's her life and as long as she is single who cares who she goes on a date with-yoi." Marco said as he slammed his fist down onto Ace's head.

The commotion caught your attention and you laughed, "Looks like my group has arrived to get me. Thanks for coming all the way here, King, I appreciate it. So, you'll pick me up later?"

"Of course and no need to thank me, y/n."

Smiling you waved goodbye before joining the guys, "What kind of fights are you starting already Ace?"

"I didn't start anything! Why is it always my fault?!"

Rolling your eyes, you grabbed Ace and Luffy and headed out the door, "Okay boys! Let's get out of here!!"

Ace looked at you as the car drove off, raising an eyebrow he began to laugh, "What the hell are you wearing?! Do you have a date or something?"

"It's not like that I just have something I have to do later, and it is easier to just wear this now instead of bringing it to change into."

"But you look like a girl! Are you telling me you really woke up and made the decision to look like a girl?!" Ace was holding his side from laughing so hard causing you to groan even louder.

Eventually you grew tired of his laughter and reached over Luffy and punched Ace in the arm, "In case you forgot asshat I am a girl! Just because you never see me dress like this doesn't mean that I don't know when it is appropriate to dress accordingly. Plus, I kind of like this dress."

Marco smiled as he turned to look at you, "It reminds me of one that your mother always used to wear, it suits you-yoi."

Nodding you smiled, "I think it looks like one she used to have too! That's why I really like this dress even if I don't usually dress like this."
