Thatch gripped onto his wheel attempting to calm the sudden nerves that he felt rising, "So what's the relationship between Law and you? You don't have to answer if you don't want to, you two just seemed oddly close."

You couldn't help but to start laughing, "Oh god no, we aren't really close. His adoptive father was Rosinante remember? Since he and I were close I met Law when he was little. I last saw him at Rosinante's funeral I went to pay my respects to him. It just so happens that my parent's grave is right next to his parents and little sisters. I hadn't seen him come out to visit them for a few years, so I always paid my respects to them and Rosinante as well when I'd come out each year. This is the first time I've seen him since we left for medical school. Honestly, I feel really bad for him aside from his close friends he lost everyone who was important to him so I was just offering to be someone he could share his news with if he wanted. Law is a good kid even if Kid and him always used to get into fights." You stared at Thatch and watched as his body began to relax, "Wait? Were you nervous about my answer or jealous?!"

Thatch glanced over at you to see you sitting there with a small smirk on your face, "Nope, but if I was would it matter?"

You leaned your head back against the head rest, "I suppose it probably wouldn't, unless it was because you were jealous then I'd have a lot more questions, BUT we both already know that this is nothing more than a friendship..." Your laughter filled the car as the idea of Thatch being jealous became funnier and funnier to you. "Although if you were jealous for some reason trust me you have zero things to worry about with a kid like Law, I have no interest in someone so young."

"Okay, okay enough laughing at my expense. Did you want me to drop you off at your apartment?"

"Oh, hmm, do you think Pops would mind if I stayed at the house tonight? I mean I left my stuff there from the night before anyway and normally I wouldn't mind being alone, but I think I'm just in the mood to have some company tonight it's been a long day."

"You know I think he would be more upset that you were worried he wouldn't welcome you at the house. Did you plan on driving your bike over or..."

"My bike needs a tune up that's also kind of why I asked King to take me today..."

Thatch looked at you in disbelief, "You haven't taken care of the maintenance for it yet? Now that is surprising, you care for that bike more than your own life it seems sometimes."

The rest of the car ride was quiet but luckily it wasn't long, after Thatch parked his car you sat there for a minute as something dawned on you sheepishly you looked over at him, he raised his eyebrow as he saw you staring, "What now? Should I be worried?"

Shaking your head you laughed, "No, but I realized that I forgot I still don't have any shirts here, so could I..."

He began to laugh, "I don't mind but I'm beginning to think you might just be collecting my shirts at this point."

Slapping your palm to your forehead you sighed, "I can't believe I forgot to grab your shirt this morning to give back to you, sorry."

He leaned over and ruffled your hair as he laughed, "I'm only joking, I don't mind, really."

Once out of the car Thatch grabbed ahold of your hand and pulled you behind him neither of you said anything as you walked past Pops who watched the two of your retreating forms going up the stairs.

Pops couldn't help but to chuckle softly to himself, "Only a matter of time."

Thatch rummaged through his dresser before pulling out a t-shirt and some sweatpants, "I think these should fit you, maybe." He looked down at the clothes in his hands before passing them over to you.
