Seeing you were to be keeping an eye out for whoever it may be that was bothering her, having justified suspicions on who, you stayed with Lizzie since classes ended for the day. You kept insisting that she try and get some sleep in while she had the chance but she kept saying that she didn't want to mess with her sleeping pattern, something which you argued that one day couldn't throw her off that bad so she should get some sleep. This made it the first argument with her that you actually won as she eventually relented and headed to bed.
While you were there to keep an eye out for her, Lizzie said for you to get whatever food you wanted that has available in return which was an offer you took up. This was around the time that Lizzie woke up from her nap so you figured you'd make something for her as well, it was her food that you were using after all, it was not being much but it was a decent meal.
"You're not a bad cook" she commended as she sat across from you to which you replied that you had to make your own food at home for a while seeing your mother was mostly drunk. "Sometimes I even leave a plate in the microwave for her to warm up, it's hard to get a thank you out of her that isn't slurred out" you muttered before just eating in silence as the hours ticked by until eventually it got late. It was nearing the time that the person who has been harassing Lizzie over the weekend should be arriving.
"You head to bed, I'll keep a lookout" you told her and she nodded before heading back up to bed and leaving you in the living room where you sat to watch TV. As the noise played in the background you were wondering about something to do with the person you suspected of harassing Lizzie; "why would he be targeting her? Is it because she's been hanging around me?" You muttered aloud as you stared at the moving images on the television.
It wasn't much longer after this thought that you heard footsteps and shot to your feet only to learn that they were from Lizzie coming back downstairs and you groaned. "What the hell is wrong with you? I thought you were the person harassing you!" You hissed and she replied with an apology before saying that she didn't feel right going to bed while you were staying up all night just to keep her safe, a comment that made you roll your eyes as of course she would phrase that in a way to make it seem like you were being a good person so you again told her not to think much into it.
"I have a personal bet in this as well" you said as she sat herself next to you and asked why that was which made you groan and ask if she really hadn't put two and two together; "it's obvious that this is all Tyrone's doing" you said and Lizzie asked why he would do that which made you hold your head in both hands. Why did Lizzie have to ask question after question? It's as if every interaction with her is just questions.
"Really? Why would he do this? Because you hang around me all the goddamn time, he sees that as us being close and has decided to target me through you, I knew he was an idiot but to think I genuinely care about you? I told you from the start that it was dangerous to be around me" you said and of course Lizzie's response was another question to ask why you don't just tell Tyrone this. You again rolled your eyes before looking at Lizzie; "because he will just think that I'm trying to protect you" you said before shaking your head and checking the time.
It was less than an hour until midnight now so you figured you'd pass the time with a movie but still you wanted to ask Lizzie one thing. "Why have you insisted for the time you have to stick around me? You should have known the dangers" you said to which Lizzie replied that she just wanted to prove her point that you were a good person, that she knew you were tired of hearing it but that it was true.
"I mean look at this right now, you may have a personal vendetta against Tyrone, and he is likely the one behind this, but you have gone out of your way just to make sure I felt safe in my home, you've shown concern for me today when I was tired and I even notice you still have that little doll that kid gave you for helping him" she said while gesturing to the stitched up doll you had in your pocket, your excuse being that it was a gift and that it wouldn't have felt right to just throw it into a corner at your house. "I'm not a good person, Elizabeth, but I do have morals, that's all this is" you said as you looked back to the TV
