It was time; you were nervous, terrified even, but it was time. There was really only one way that you could get out of J.C's (or Jacob as you revealed his real name to be) gang and it was if he was off the streets and locked away, he had done enough to be charged and you needed him to confess to it. It was going to be dangerous but it was the only option you had on the table if you wanted out. It was now or never really.
"You'll be fine" Lizzie said as she was by your side, the two of you heading to the meeting place together as a police car waited just down the road. You told Lizzie that she should stay with the police but she responded by saying that she was going to be by your side through this, she promised you this and you could only nod. Lizzie was very stubborn as you knew and it would be very difficult to get her to change her mind so you just accepted her offer but told her to stay behind you, terms which she agreed on as you arrived at the place.
Lizzie gave your hand a squeeze of encouragement and you made it to the back garden of the derelict house, J.C and the rest of the gang already being there and waiting on you with the leader turning to face you. He looked at Lizzie and recognised her from before but paid her no mind as he wanted to get to the point, that being of the job he tasked you with.
"So, where's the money?" He asked and you replied that it was still at the shop, that you didn't go through with the job which made him narrow his eyes. "I knew you didn't have the guts to do it; fine, hand over the gun and get out of my sight, you're out of the group" he said but you didn't flinch at his words, instead saying that he wasn't getting the gun which made him question why that was and you told him you handed it into the police so it was out of everyone's hands.
"You did what?!" He shouted which made everyone jump before you replied that it was as you said; "I handed the gun over to the police; it shouldn't be in my hands and it sure as hell shouldn't be in yours, I don't care if you kick me out of the group, I'm done being a puppet for you!" You spat which made the other members of the group back up as they felt the rage emanating from J.C.
He had narrowed eyes directed towards you and you guided Lizzie to stand behind you as you glared back. "Who the hell do you think you're talking to you little shit? You're nothing without this group, you'd be nothing if not for me" he spoke harshly but you didn't back away, instead keeping your stare on him.
"And what am I because of you? A thug, a criminal who everyone avoided, you made me a puppet! I worshipped you and this group only for you to use me, make me the scapegoat for crimes you committed among my own! I'm done taking the blame for you and everyone in this group, J.C, or should I say Jacob!" You spat and everyone else backed up even more as they saw J.C's eye twitch with building anger as he told you to be careful on who you speak to but instead of backing up you approached him.
"Jacob Collins, I'm not scared of you, I don't have any respect for you anymore, so why the hell should I call you what you want to be known as?" You demanded as you stood in front of him, hiding the fact you were terrified with a glare. Jacob towered over you, he could beat you to a pulp but still you stood up to him.
"Y/n, what are you doing?" Lizzie asked, concerned about what may happen if you keep this up as she knew what you were doing. "Stay out of this you bitch!" Jacob spat to which you told him not to talk to her like that, that this was between you and him which made him look back at you with a sneer. "You're nothing, Y/n, without me or this group you are nothing but trash, what would you do if I did this?" He spat as he shoved you to the ground but you got up again and told him that you weren't going to be pushed around anymore.
This response was met with a sarcastic laugh as he again shoved you to the ground only for you to again stand up. "What can you do? So what if I, or the others, did half the stuff you've been charged with? Shoplifting and vandalism is what you're known for so it's not like anyone would believe you if you snitched" he sneered with Lizzie stepping forward to say she believed you, everyone looking at her as she glared at Jacob.
