Thunder rumbled outside, and Kenma flinched. He put a hand over his mouth and sighed. Of all of the times for a storm to come around, this was the worst possible time.

"Kuroo?"

Kenma curled up as he waited for a response that never came. His other hand moved to wrap around his stomach, and he flinched when he saw lightning flash outside.

"Kuroo? I need you." Gently, Kenma nudged Kuroo's leg with his own.

Kuroo barely opened his eyes and hummed. "Hmm?"

"I think I'm gonna be sick. And I'm afraid I won't make it to the toilet if I move."

Kuroo's eyes widened and he practically shot out of bed. When thunder clapped again, he walked around to Kenma and kissed his forehead. "Alright, love. I'll be right back."

Kenma watched as Kuroo quickly left the room. A minute later, he was back and holding a bucket. He handed it to Kenma, who sat up so very slowly, and crawled back into bed.

Rubbing circles on Kenma's back, Kuroo comforted Kenma as he emptied the contents of his stomach into the bucket.

Kenma sighed in relief when Kuroo pulled his hair back and pulled it into a loose ponytail. He muttered a quiet thanks, and Kuroo continued rubbing his back.

"You doing alright? I know you don't like storms."

Shivering, Kenma clutched the bucket to his chest and nodded. "I think... I'm good now." He looked at Kuroo, who wore a sad smile.

"Are you sure?"

Kenma glanced into the bucket. Quite literally everything he'd eaten recently had been thrown up. "Mhm." He sat the bucket on the floor and ran his hands over his face. "What time is it?"

"Almost three." Kuroo continued to rub Kenma's back, and he pulled Kenma closer when thunder rumbled through the apartment.

"I'm sorry I woke you."

"Don't be sorry, Kenma. Do you want to get a shower? It'll block out the storm. And I can make some tea and toast to calm your stomach. Or we can just go back to bed. Whichever you'd rather."

Heaving a sigh, Kenma looked out the window. He flinched at the pounding rain and lightning. There was absolutely no way he'd be able to sleep for awhile.

Kuroo saw the look on his face and nodded. "Okay, darling. I'm assuming just cinnamon sugar on your toast?" Kenma nodded in confirmation. "Alright, what kind of tea?"

"Just black with a bit of sugar."

"Got it." Kuroo stood up and grinned at Kenma. "Don't worry about a thing, darling. Your prince is here to save the day."

Kenma rolled his eyes and stood up slowly. He pulled Kuroo into a tight hug. "Thank you."

"Don't worry about it. Just get a nice shower and come out whenever you're ready."

Kenma nodded and did as he was told. As he got in the shower, he hummed quietly, grateful that he could no longer hear the thunder.

When he finished, Kenma threw on a sweater and fuzzy pants. He ran a hand through his wet hair and smiled when he heard Kuroo singing in the kitchen. He thought it was cute how even after knowing Kenma his whole life, Kuroo only sings when he thinks Kenma can't hear him. Cute, but a shame. His voice is quite good.

Just as Kenma was about to join Kuroo in the kitchen, thunder rumbled so loud that the apartment shook. He whimpered and shut his eyes, sitting on the bed and curling in on himself.

Kuroo swore from the kitchen, causing Kenma to crack a small smile. He got off the bed and made his way to his boyfriend.

"Are you alright? That one was loud." Kuroo sat down at the table where a rather large amount of toast sat, watching Kenma with concern as he did so.

Kenma sat across from him and nodded. "I'm alright, really... So uh, what's the deal with all of this toast?"

"It's three am and neither of us are going to sleep anytime soon, so I figured we'd have a good old toast party."

Kenma laughed and sipped at his tea. "You are the most ridiculous person I've ever met."

"Maybe so, but I'm your ridiculous person."

"Yes. Yes you are."
