WHEN THEY arrived at the party, night had fallen. Terra and Augustine  found their other suit mates Miss and Aisha. The group conversed for a bit until Terra and Augustine left. Then, Terra was pulled aside by a guy who kind of looked like her.

Probably her brother, Augustine thought. She wandered the room smiling at those who smiled at her. Parties were never her thing. In Astérix, whenever her parents threw a party she was forced to stay the entire time. When she was younger she found everything fascinating but things became dull as she grew up.

This party wasn't much of a party; it was more of a gathering for the new school year. Alfea was beautiful, the atmosphere was warm and the lights were bright. People talked amongst each other and had a good time.

Augustine didn't plan on long on staying long. She has yet to meet her other roommates, Musa and Aisha, but her focus was on finding Stella. The only person she really knew at the school.

That didn't take long.

Augustine heard two very familiar voices arguing. She sighed and followed the sound of Stella yelling at Sky.

"-I always do." She heard Sky say as she got closer.

Augustine looked at the size of students huddled in a crowd surrounding the two teens.

So nosy. She thought, wrinkling her nose in distaste.  As Sky left, Augustine slid past all the people and found Stella. The girl was glaring angrily at the group of students.

"Enjoy the show?" She spat, looking upset. She stormed away and Augustine followed. "What happened?" She called out.

Stella looked visibly irritated. "Listen, I am not your baby-sitter, you don't have to follow me around." She snapped, walking off in another direction.

The students in the corridor looked at water fairy weirdly to which she snapped. "Buzz off!"

Augustine signed and turned away, mentally preparing to call it a night — when a hand caught her arm.

"That was quite the scene there."

Her heart sped up. That voice. Augustine turned around to face him, almost afraid to look at him.

He was talking to her. Funny how the first thing she said to him in person after all these years was to tease her.

Augustine tugged her arm away from him gently. "Stella's in a bad mood." She said, shrugged her shoulders.

Riven nodded, "I can tell. It was something to do with that ginge, what's her name again?"

Augustine rolled her eyes at his nickname for Bloom. "Bloom, her name is Bloom."

Riven shrugged nonchalantly. "Same thing." He said. He was barely taller than her, just enough that she had to look up at him. They were standing relatively close to each other. Their proximity made Augustine blush.

"You know, I was thinking about going for a smoke when a very annoyed fairy caught my attention. Mind explaining?" He casually mentioned smoking and Augustine tried to hide the disgust on her face.

Augustine pursed her lips. "I wouldn't say I'm annoyed, just, happy to see my old friend." She added a cheeky smile at the end.

Riven shook his head as he chuckled, "But you were annoyed?"

"Maybe!" Augustine hummed back, dragging out the letters.

He had fallen into rythme with her as they walked to her dorm. Augustine looked at him, his eyes shone in the dim light and she couldn't help but admire them.
