Rose and Patricia had accompanied each other, seeing as Riff hadn't met her friends yet, but that sparked a thought from her mind.
It has first come to her when the religious aspect of the ceremony was in place. The traditional vows came into place, and the whole commitment talk came into view.
Rose knew that she and Riff weren't official, but it hurt a little. But, whatever happened, she was exclusively his. As long as he would have her, she was his.

It had been playing on her mind for almost a week.
As she worked in the post office, alongside Susan Southall who still wouldn't shut her mouth about Diane's wedding, her mind played over and over again. She wanted to be with Riff, more than she had wanted anything, but she couldn't live with the way things were anymore.
Rose never asked what Riff did in his spare time, outside of the gang. For all she knew, he'd been with a hundred more girls including her. The Everly girl never thought to ask, but now she knew it had to change.
When he got back to her place that night, she was going to bring it up. She couldn't hide it anymore.
"Hey, 'lil darlin'." Riff called, walking through the apartment, and finding the girl sat at the dining table, reading.
"Hi." Her answer was blunt. He could tell that something was wrong.
Sitting beside her on one of the wooden chairs, he took her hand in his, and kissed it delicately. "What's happened?"
"What are we?" The words fell from her lips before she could think about it properly. She took a breath, and tried to rephrase. "I mean, we're not boyfriend and girlfriend. We're not a lot of things that other people are, and I'm confused. I just want to know... if this is actually what you want."
Riff raised a brow. "Are you done?"
Offering a half smile, Rose nodded. "I think so."
"Well, Rosie, do you wanna be with me?"
