MAX WAS CURSED AND THEY were now depending on creepy old Victor Creel to save them. That's all they really knew about this situation they had been thrown in, and Amelia really didn't like being left in the dark especially when they now had a timer on their backs.

Amelia half-listened, half-stared off into the distance as Lucas, Steve and Dustin discussed the article the other three had printed for them. The girl watched Max, who sat at the far end of the basement writing something, intently as if she was trying to read her mind.

It was early the next morning and everyone was desperate to find some sort of information to save Max, but they had been unsuccessful so far.

It wasn't until Dustin snapped his fingers in front of her face when she snapped out of the trance. "Amelia? Are you even listening?"

"No, to be honest," Amelia said, leaning back in the couch from her seat beside Lucas. They all turned to see who she was staring at and suddenly realised.

"Any idea what she's writing?" Dustin asked, causing Amelia to shrug. "Did she sleep?"

His sister just shook her head, her eyes never leaving the back of Max. "I mean... would you?"

The door to the basement then burst open when Nancy and Robin walked down with smiles. "Okay, so... we have a plan."

They all sat around as Nancy passed a file to Amelia and Steve. "Thanks to Nancy's newspaper minions, you are now rockstar psychology students at the University of Notre Dame."

"I'm now Ruth," Nancy stated, before pointing at Amelia, who read through the file. "You're Rose."

"Nice GPA."

"Thanks," Nancy stated. "So we called Pennhurst Asylum, told them we'd like to speak with Creel for a thesis we're co-writing on paranoid schizophrenics—"

"To which they said no."

"But, we landed a three o'clock with the director."

"Now all you two have to do is charm him and convince him to let you talk to Victor," Robin stated hopefully.

"And then maybe we can rid Max of this curse."

"Yeah uh, about that," Steve started, handing the file back to Nancy. "We've been doing our Victor Creel homework and, uh... we got some questions."

"Lots of questions," Lucas chimed.

"So do we. Hopefully, Victor has the answers," Nancy stated.

Steve then paused, his eyes brows furrowing as he pointed at the files. "Wait,  wait— wait a second. Uh... Where's mine?"

Nancy and Robin glanced at each other, causing Amelia to awkwardly lean back in her chair.

"Nancy, you're outta your mind if you think I'm babysitting again," Steve stated as he, Nancy, Robin and Amelia entered the girls room.

"Okay first of all, they're not babies anymore, and Max is in real danger," Nancy stated as Amelia leaned back on Nancy's bed. "She needs people around her."
