That night, Mirabel couldn't sleep. She kept tossing and turning, closing her eyes shut, but to no avail did she succeed.

Mirabel groaned and looked beside her. You were sleeping peacefully. Mirabel could hear the tiny snores coming from your sleeping figure. Exactly where Antonio used to sleep.

Antonio didn't sleep there anymore because he had his own room. And while everyone else was partying and having fun, she was sure that she saw those cracks, what happened to Casita and the candle.

Mirabel stared up at the ceiling. There was no way she could sleep and there was no way she made all of that up.

Frustrated, Mirabel climbed out of bed, opened her door and looked up to the candle where the wall was covered in cracks. Mirabel rubbed her hand along the wall of Abuela's window... no cracks.

Back in her bedroom, Casita woke you up with a slight nudge. Your eyes fluttered open. You let out a small yawn and rubbed your eyes. The tiles on the floor led your gaze to the empty bed beside you.

"What's wrong? Where's Mirabel?" You asked.

Casita moved its very same tiles towards the window with some moving of the curtains as well.

"Oh." You muttered underneath your breath. "And how is the candle doing?"

Before Casita could answer, Mirabel came through the window and jumped back in with a determined look on her face. Mirabel soon caught saw the tired look on your face as you stretched.

"Oh. Sorry (Y/n). Did I wake you up?"

You shook your head. "No worries, Spiderman."

You paused and stopped rubbing your eyes as you recalled what you just said. You did not just call her that because of her pose. Oh well. Blame the fatigue.

You sat up on top of the bed, still slightly half-asleep. "So. What's got you up?" You asked.

Mirabel sighed. "I know I saw those cracks, (Y/n). But nobody except for you seems to believe me."

Her eyes widened. "Wait, why do you believe me?"

"I know you wouldn't lie about something like this." You replied easily. "Plus, I don't think that it would've kept you up at night if you were lying."

You left out the part where you felt light-headed around the time when she claimed the house that you could talk to (oddly enough) started to crumble. So it couldn't be a coincidence.

"Thanks. I think that Abuela knows about the cracks. But she's keeping it to herself. She's scared. But I'm not. So I've decided that I'm gonna save the miracle." Mirabel whispered in a confident voice.

Though it didn't last for long. "Uh--wait. How do I save a miracle?"

Both you and Casita shrugged at the same time.

"I... find out what's happening to the miracle!" Mirabel said.

"How are you gonna do that?" You asked.

"I have no idea." Mirabel replied. She then turned to a family photo on her desk. "But there is one person in this family who hears everything about everything. So if anyone would know what's wrong with the magic, it's her."

Your POV

I nervously walked behind Mirabel after lunch. "Hey, um, are you sure this is a good idea?" I asked. "What are you even going to say to her?"

Mirabel continued to walk towards the outside of the house. "I'll just go with the flow. I'm sure I can handle it."

Her eyes soon locked onto Dolores. "Ah. There she is!" Mirabel exclaimed. "C'mon (Y/n)!"
