TOMIDE sat in his chair in the editing room staring at the many emails Diane has been sending to him and as he clicked delete another one came in, angrily he shut the computer and left the room. He was not going to be frustrated, the day was about to be long and it troubled him. Ever since the youngest daughter of the Adewuri's family had sent a mail, knowing the trouble the entire clan of Adewuri causes he was about to decline the work, but she had sent a deposit and was forceful about him shooting her birthday pictures.
Tony was outside resting on the railings when Tomide walked outside, he was about to say something when his gaze moved across the street where Stephanie Adewuri stood arguing at the last person he never wants to see. He sighed which caught Tony's attention, he laughed and turned back to the rich men's daughter who felt the world revolved around them.
"It's about to be a long day for you." Tony walked back into the studio.
"I know that right." Tomide shook his head as the ladies walked towards the studio building.
"You should have seen my car coming so you know when to stop the dreadful-looking car of yours." Stephanie said as they walked into the studio. Fortunately, Diane didn't respond to her turned to Tomide and greeted him with a smile he was hoping to run with the word No. "Please tell me you are not here for a shoot. Because I had told Tomide Davies to keep the whole afternoon free for me."
"I am here for other businesses."
"Like creating a horrible clothing collection no one wants to wear." Stephanie said and Tomide turned to see Diane whose expression changed all of a sudden. Stephanie should not have said that because even though Diane is proud and spoilt she didn't want to be her pride to be stepped on and that was what Stephanie Adewuri was doing and sort of affected Tomide. He didn't know Diane well but with their little encounters, he knew she loved her work.
Before Diane burst with insults Tomide stepped in. "Miss Diane and I have other businesses to do. I called her here and you can please go through the white door to change."
Stephanie glared at him but he did not care, he did not want anything in his studio to be a weapon for the ladies. "My stylist and make-up artist are running late so you and good too shoes can go on with your business."
Tomide sneered at Stephanie, it was his studio but she commanded power and it upset him. A typical Adewuri. Tomide's assistants came in with four other people who Stephanie knew, were respectful and Stephanie did not fail to command them and they seemed to be used to it.
Diane sat watching them, saying nothing, she had seen someone rude and proud with a hundred hierarchy than her because there was no rich Nigerian the Adewuri's were never friends. The smile on his face fades as fast as it came when Diane turned to him with her pretty face void of makeup.
"I hope I won't disturb you. You know why I am here."
"I had told you my answer why are we still on the topic." He walks towards the new setup his assistants were putting up. Stephanie had sent so many inspirational shoots that were kind of confusing and directly challenging to the kind of work he would do but he wanted a good job for the fear of trouble.
"Why? Fine sorry I guess. I don't remember anything I did wrong. We should both be apologizing." She said looking more desperate than he had thought she would ever be.
"Find another photographer." He turned away from her pretty petite face that he imagined touching.
"I would have done that but I am still here." She said looking away from him.
