Tomide spent a week deciding to meet with his sister, who he had heard from Mr Remi was his secretary slash PA. He was shocked when he heard it but then she had the opportunity, a lot of great opportunity. He had told Diane about it and she had encouraged him. He and Diane had grown closer and he enjoyed their time together there was always something to talk about or laugh about, there was one experience or the other he was experiencing that reminded him of his parent's love.
His parents were young when they fell in love and one week later they got married, it was silly of them but then they were fond of each other, they loved themselves even in the ups and downs. Mrs Niniola Olu Davies found out she had one ovary as she's supposed to have two so all the children she had conceived before Tomide had died in the earliest stage. Before Mrs Amoke Davies brought another woman, Abebi into the house to bear children for her son as his young wife was "barren". Mrs Niniola depressed found out she was 12 weeks pregnant when Abebi was 8 months pregnant.
As Abebi gave birth to a girl, Mrs Amoke wasn't too pleased then fell in love when Mrs Niniola gave birth to a boy. She stopped coming to the house after she apologized and that her God had answered her prayers. Mrs Abebi had given birth to twin boys after Mrs Niniola had given birth to Nimi. Mrs Abebi had become so jealous of Mrs Niniola that as he grew up he tried to understand her jealousy.
What he always saw in his parent's eyes seemed to be what he and Diane had in theirs. Filled with love, filled with content, filled with excitement and just like his father he wasn't afraid of getting married.
Tomide stopped his car in front of the restaurant he was meeting Doyin and he couldn't wait to see his step-sister as he didn't know what she looked like. He stood at the entrance of the restaurant searching for Doyin, everyone had a partner on each table except two and they were both females. But before Tomide could meet one and ask if she was Doyin, one looked up and called his name. He turned to the second female at the end of the room sitting at the table next to the window. He walked up to her and tried to put her face together just then he remembered he had seen her somewhere, she had so much of her mother's looks. As they hugged Tomide remembered where he had seen her, at the party he and Latox had gone, she was next to Mr Remi as he went to his car.
"It's been ages."
"Obviously."
