"The Chessmaster " Harumi Kiyoko- Leone
- Eldest of 5 within the matriarchal Leone crime family in Italy - in order to understand her , you need to understand who and what her family is / what they do . - You can think of them as an extremely high profiled crime family- who are usually the faces behind many major crime events - pulling the strings - the faces and minds behind the acts . The untouchable hire ups - Usually they take diplomatic positions or buy out diplomatic candidates that go along with their best interests, make sure they win , and obtain immunity from that alliance. This can mean hiring the mafia - which they have ties too via haru's twin brother , and any other means necessary - They use these connections to be completely untouchable - half of them are immune - the other half aren't even found / connected to the crimes they commit because of how thoroughly they cover their tracks . - They make / sure / what they want - happens exactly how they want / need it to happen - This is where haru's nickname ' Chessmaster ' comes from . She's able to use these skills to organize situations to happen the way she wants - using her wealth, connections and other methods to guarantee a certain outcome - making people play into her hands - especially in the law world that she's inserted herself into - think of this family as the Kingsmen . Perfectly organized / you don't find them- they find you - type thing. - one of their whole things is the sheer fact that they are / everywhere / . They act almost as a unit and have pretty much infiltrated most major industries within Italy- economics , biochemistry, education, etc . Creating drugs disguised as medication, setting up fake industries for people to invest stock market in and then purposefully crashing them in order to win, buying out entire lots , as mentioned before - some are even within the government itself and with that comes privileges - They have their claws deep within the governmental system , they manipulate the economy , tank the stock market subtly so rival groups fall , etc - The motto is - you are as strong as who you know . Connections ,ties and debts are everything. Who owes who, who can you use to get to the top and stay at the top - They don't use the word ' mafia ' because they consider themselves higher than that . They consider themselves to be ' above petty crime ' - However they don't mind working with them because some of their family members chose the mafia - haru included . She had a thrill streak hence why she was the one who offered to go to America - Her family secured ties with the American mafia - and haru was the one who went over to lend her expertise as a way to solidify the alliance - that's why she's with karma in the first place . She has a thrill streak and wanted to be apart of the action - she got bored just giving orders . - there is something that must be pushed however . The Leone family does what they want but they go by a VERY strict code . Similar to the Italian mafia that they have ties too- they will not harm/ kill woman / true innocents - nor will they harm children . Basically they find corruption and exploit that corruption - but they won't corrupt genuinely good people . They don't threaten children , they don't kill senselessly . - as mentioned earlier - she's a family of 5. - her twin brother is Hitoshi- who is the consigliere for the Italian mafia . Her sisters are Hitomi and Hiromi . Their names are similar to make researching them and identifying them difficult. They go by nicknames . Harumi goes by haru, Hiromi goes by Hiro, Hitomi goes by Tomi' and Hitoshi goes by toshi. - since there were so many of them - usually they worked together . - she's very good at her job and she / knows / she's good . Mistakes aren't something she lets happen . The perfect record is one of her most cherished accomplishments .
