It was just a normal morning at Ever After High. Mason was sitting in the castleteria eating breakfast next to her friend, Lizzie Hearts. Suddenly, she hears someone clear their throat through the use of her advanced hearing. As she looks up to where the noise comes from, she sees Apple White on the balcony.
"Hexcuse me!" Apple calls. Upon noticing that no one can here her over the noise of a bunch of half asleep teenagers eating breakfast, She inhales deeply and gets ready to let out a loud whistle. Mason quickly slides on her noise cancelling headphones so she doesn't burst her eardrums. Apple whistles loud enough for the entire castleteria to hear. Tiny, one of the three little pigs yells out in surprise. Something like 'My ears!'. Mason wasn't entirely sure but she lets out a quiet scoff anyways.
Apple lets out another whistle.
'Dude I think everyone heard you the first time.' Mason thinks while rolling her eyes. She realises that Apple is finally done and slides her headphones off again.
"Excuse me, as editor of The Griffin, our beloved school paper, I am pleased to announce I am doing a special feature," Apple begins, "And the theme is a time of wonder. It will feature stories about Wonderland and all the students from Wonderland who are here now." Mason raises her eyebrows, genuinely considering the idea of the article.
Faybelle, deciding to be the attention hog that she always is, butts into Apple's announcment, "I think Apple's idea is awesome!"
"Thanks, Faybelle. Wait, you-you do?" Apple asks surprised.
"Sure!" Faybelle responds as she flits up to the balcony next to Apple, "Cause it'll give you a chance to rehash how these Wonderland brats got stuck here in the first place," Mason's eyebrows raise in offense with a 'wtf' vibe radiating from her, "thanks to Raven's mom, the Evil Queen!" Faybelle takes out her MirrorPad and starts playing the audio of the Evil Queen's cackle, scaring everyone in the castleteria. Students left and right are jumping of fright, some even fleeing.
Raven Queen stands up abruptly amongst the chaos, "Hey, that's not fair! It's not my mom's fault that Wonderland is sealed off from Ever After! I mean, okay, maybe she poisoned Wonderland's magic, and sure, because of her Wonderland is even topsy-turvier than ever—and yeah, thanks to her the Queen of Hearts is a total wacko-screwball—"
"Dude, what the hex?" Mason says to Raven while Lizzie sighs, clearly upset. She reaches across the table to grab Lizzies hand and gently rub it to comfort her.
"Hello? Raven just like, totally insulted your mom." Faybelle says while leaning over to Lizzie.
"Sorry Lizzie..." Raven appologises before continuing her speach, "I was just trying to point out if you're gonna look for someone to blame, blame Headmaster Grimm! He's always like, 'You must always follow your own stories', and 'Let's trap the Evil Queen in a mirror forever'! Hah, am I right?" Everyone remains silent. Mason is trying her hardest to hold in her laugh because as Raven has been talking, Headmaster Grimm had walked up behind her, "He's standing right behind me, isn't he?"
Mason nods while Grimm says, "Correct! And you may be seated." Raven walks back to her seat while nervously chuckling which causes Mason to let a few laughes fall past her lips. Lizzie smiles at her best friend while lightly smacking her hand in scolding.
Grimm continues, "As for the rest of you, understand this, the Wonderland curse is dangerous!" Mason rolls her eyes, "No one must be allowed to have contact with that world for any reason. It has been sealed off for your own good," And with that, he turns and walks off.
Apple waves her hand in the air while walking towards the Headmaster, "Oh, oh-oh-oh! Headmaster Grimm—" Mason stops paying attention and turns back towards Lizzie.
"You gonna help out with the article?" She asks. Lizzie Shrugs.
"I'm not sure. I might, just so I have a chance to talk about Wonderland. I've been missing home recently," Mason nods in agreement. The bell rings and Headmaster Grimm sends everyone off to class.
Apple rushes to get out the end of her announcement before everyone leaves, "Hey, hey everybody!" She says while waving her hand around again, "I'm looking for volunteers to help with the story; if you're interested, meet me in the Study Hall after class."
