The girls continue their treck through wonderland. They got to a bridge across a river and they saw a water fall... flowing upwards?

"I've heard of a waterfall," Apple said, "but it's flowing up into the clouds!"

'Wow such an astute observation' Mason thought as she rolled her eyes.

"A good day to you, ladies!" A very polite polite fish greeted as he paddled his boat up the waterfall. Mason awkwardly waved.

Apple shared the awkwardness apparently because she just stuttered out a, "Oh, uh, good day to you too!"

Raven decides this would be the perfect opportunity for a joke, "Whoa. So would that be swimming upstream?" The girls groan in unison at Raven's pun and Mason laughs, "Well, someone had to say it!"

"Come now, we must press on! There'll be plenty of time to smell the roses after we save my mother." Lizzie urges.

Briar raises her eyebrows and says, "Huh. I would've thought in Wonderland, the roses smell you!"

"They do sometimes," Mason says while kicking random rocks on the ground, "But not all plants are sentient. There are normal plants too." Briar nods and the girls continue on their way.

Kitty stops and stares at the spades in the card fence carefully, seeing that something was up, "Hmm..." Suddenly one of the spades opens its eyes. She outstretches her hand to touch it and spade fish burst forth from the card. She giggles as the fish float around the girls.

While the rest of the girls were fawning over the wonderland animals, Mason couldn't help but still feel something was wrong. There was something in the air and surrounding all of the creatures of Wonderland. She couldn't figure it out until she looked into the eyes of one of the spade fish. It was fear. Fear was everywhere in Wonderland. And not just that, the magic felt off as well. During her childhood, Wonderland was magical and otherworldy. But now, the magic in the air felt stagnant. All in all, this did not feel like the Wonderland she knew and loved.

Lizzie, still not feeling that something was wrong, beckoned the group along, "Raven, Apple, come on! Now that the curse is lifted and the border is open..." She trailed off

"I-I don't think I actually opened the border, and as for the curse..." Raven stutters out

The group walks over to the edge of a cliff that over looked a field. Over head a swirling green fog lingered. This, this is the disturbance that Mason felt. The smile quickly fell from Lizzie's face, "Oh... No..."

Apple is the first to speak up and interupt the tense silence, "Those clouds in the sky, what are they?"

"It is the curse," Lizzie responds with dread, "I thought it was lifted."

"But what does it mean? Wh-wh-what's happening?" Maddie asks with worry. Mason walks over and wraps and arm around Maddie to try to comfort her best friend. While she had been prepared for something bad, most of her friends hadn't been.

Mason could tell that Raven blamed herself to a certain extent, "I'm sorry, but I just don't know."

Apple, ever the optimist, said, "Well, we need to find out."

"And I'll help you, right after we save my mother from this scheming villain! Whomever they are. Then it'll be off with their head instead of hers!" Lizzie shouts, suddenly filling with determination.

While the girls continue to stare into the fog of the curse, they hear from in the distance, the whinny of a horse. They look in the direction of the noise to see the white knight, fastly approaching.
