Faybelle cuts herself off and starts coughing as a purple mist surrounds her...
From the mist, Raven appears with the rest of the Wonderlandian students of Ever After high. "Finally! I got us to the Study Hall!" She exclaimes. Through her excitement she hadn't realized that both her and Bunny Blanc, in rabbit form, had landed on top of Faybelle. Mason noticed this though and a smirk creeps onto her face.
Excitedly, Apple jumps up to greet her friends, "You guys came!"
"Sorry I'm late, Apple. And, sorry I smashed you, Faybelle," Raven says as she nervously chuckles and slowly climbs off of the dark fairy. Mason has to bury her face into Lizzie's shoulder to ensure she doesn't laugh, "I'm still getting the hang of this magic spell business."
Faybelle begins sitting up but at that moment Bunny decides to transfrom back to human form and knock Faybelle back down, "Don't worry. You'll get used to it."
"Get. Off. Me." Faybelle says slowly yet angrily and this causes the dam to finally burst and Mason lets out a laugh. Her friends look at her momentarliy before focusing back on the meeting.
Bunny hops off of Faybelle and awkwardly says, "Oh. Sorry."
"Has the meeting started yet?" Allister asks in an attempt to get the attention off of Bunny. Mason raises an eyebrow, looks between the two and smiles. She had always known that the two had a thing for eachother.
Maddie decides to answer him which of course means she begins to go off on a tangent while pulling random things out of her hat and pockets, "Of course it hasn't! You can't start a meeting until you've had tea! Oh, but you can't have tea without scones; and you certainly can't eat a scone without jam! Oh, and I would never eat jam without butter! And you can't spread your butter without a—"
Everyone freezes except for Maddie and Mason. For a second, Mason is confused but then realizes it's most likely the doing of one of the narrators. While Maddie can talk to them, Mason isn't affected in the slightest by anything the narrators do or say. But this also means she has never been able to hear them. Suddenly Maddie dashes over to one of the bookshelves at the back of the room before saying, "Hi! Is that the new-ish narrator? Hmm-hmm, how's it going?" I can only assume that the narrators are talking because Maddie remains silent for a bit before continuing, "It could be..." she gasps, "off with her head."
"Wait, wait, wait, Maddie what are you talking about? Off with who's head?" Mason asks. Maddie very quickly explains that there is a plot against the Queen of Hearts to dethrone her. There is shock clearly evident on Mason's face. Brooke, apparently that's the young narrator's name, unfreezes everyone else and Maddie explains the situation.
"If my mother is in danger, well, we—" Lizzie stutters out in dismay.
Allister trys to reassure her, "Don't worry, Lizzie. We'll figure out a way to help her."
"But how? If we can't even get back to Wonderland!" Bunny exclaims.
"There's gotta be some way! A weak spot, or-or a secret we don't know about?" Raven reasons.
Darling thinks before saying, "Maybe we should look at what's been written about Wonderland before. I mean, we're surrounded by old research! Aren't we?"
Mason thinks about it for a second before responding, "That's actually a good idea. There has to be something in one of these books." Darling smiles at her. Mason smiles and sends a her a wink, watching as a blush blooms across Darling's cheeks.
Raven reaches for a book from the shelf next to her. "Everybody grab a book. Look for whatever you can find out about Wonderland. Or, how to get back - anything!"
"Huh! Typical" Faybelle huffs angrily as she grabs a nearby book from a desk.
The start searcing the room for any book to give them information on Wonderland. Bunny finds a giant book and starts reading it while Allister finds a tiny one. Darling is on a ladder dropping useful books from above for Apple to catch. Mason just goes back to the book she was reading before. It's not like she doesn't care about getting back to Wonderland. She misses her home more than anything. But, at the moment she was way more interested in her book than she was in searching for some random Wonderland book.
Mason is reading her book, which she found out is called Jurassic Park, when Raven interrupts the silence, "Well, here's an interesting fact - Mason, Maddie, is it true school in Wonderland is held only one day a year?"
Maddie responds first, "Yeah! But we have to cram a lot-a lot-a lot-a lot of study into that one day!"
"I mean yeah. We go to school and cram a lot of learning and the rest of the 364 days we can spend them however we please. Having tea parties, running through fields, walking around the grounds of the White Queens palace..." Mason trails off reminiscing on her time in Wonderland.
"It was a great place to live." Allister says with a fond smile.
"And your mom really is a good queen, Lizzie." Bunny agrees, "I think the curse just kinda stressed her out."
"Thanks, Bunny. It really must be so hard for her all alone, with a whole queendom to take care of." Lizzie says sadly. Mason puts her arm around Lizzie so she could give her a comforting side hug.
Raven sets the books she was carrying on a desk before she says, "I'm sorry Lizzie. Despite what I said in the castleteria, this really is my mom's fault. I almost wish she were around. I could reason with her - she'd be powerful enough to open up the worlds again."
