"Chase is the name. Chase Redford."

Chase Redford. Mason's old best friend. As kids, the Red queen and the Bandersnatch were both part of the Queen of Hearts' court. So in turn, Chase and Mason were there as well. They were quick friends, bonding over their love of swords. Unfortunately when Mason left to Ever After, she couldn't say goodbye. But now looking at Chase standing in front of her (all six feet and two inches of him) she realized just how good looking he had gotten.

Chase could say the exact same thing. Yes, he was so upset that she left withought a goodbye but he understood the reason. And in the years that they had been apart she had just gotten even more beautiful. Her eyes became an even brighter blue if that was possible. And her wavy white hair had taken on a silver sheen. Let's just say that he was glad he was wearing a helmet when he first saw her because his face matched his armour with how red it got.

All of the girls were staring in awe.

"And I understand your distress," Chase said while the girls were still in shock, "Besides, it's just one day of school. How hard can it be?"

"Lizzie. You said your mom's party is at teatime. What time is that?" Raven asked.

Lizzie opens her mouth to speak but is interrupted by Maddie.

"Easy. Teatime is the time when we have our tea," Maddie states with a smile, "It's right there in the name!" This causes causes Mason to laugh and Chase looked at her with a small smile.

"No, I meant―" Raven tries again

"Four o'clock!" Lizzie announces

"Not a problem, school lets out at three," Chase says with a smile, "See? Now, you really don't want to be late. The vice-principal doesn't like it when students are late."

"Uh, what about the principal?" Briara asks

Chase walks up a flight of stairs to the entrance as the girls follow.

"The vice-principal is the principal. After all, it's not really fair to promote a vice-principal out of their vice-principal job to make the principal," Chase explains with a chuckle, "It's principally a matter of principle."

Maddie puts a hand on her chin before saying, "Hmm, makes sense to me!" which causes Mason to nod. It truly did make sense to her but it probably wouldn't to the girls from Ever After.

The White Rabbit suddenly pushes past Maddie and Kitty and exclaims in a hurry, "Excuse me! Clear the way! I'm very late! I can't delay!" He abruptly freezes at realizing who he just brushed past, "Oh my ears and whiskers! It's Madeline Hatter! And Kitty Cheshire, too! Oh my rabbit! Mason Snatch as well! And, oh, your royal highness." He says with a bow in Lizzie's direction.

"Guys, this is the White Rabbit; Bunny's dad!" Maddie exclaims before leaning down close to the White Rabbit and whispering, "Bunny's okay. at Ever After by the way."

"Oh, thank goodness she's safe from the curse." The White Rabbit says in with pure relief written across his face.

Mason suddenly remembered that she was back in the same world as her father. She would have to visit him later. He would most likely be at the queen's birthday party if he still works in the court.
Mason had an amazing relationship with her father. He was the most important person in her life as was she to him. Her mother was never there so she relied on her father so having to leave him because of the curse absolutey crushed her.

"Oh! About that curse―" Apple brings up before being cut off by a loud, ringing alarm.

The Rabbit's pocket watch was the cause of said ringing, Oh dear. Oh dear! No time to talk! That's the bell that rings when the bell's about to ring! Quickly now!" He exclaims, hopping quickly to the front door of the school

Apple and  Raven look at eachother, bewildered. She reaches for the handle of the door and it lights up, splitting into little jigsaw pieces which slip through the cracks of the wall as the door disperses causing both girls to gasp.

As the group walk in the interior of the school is filled with upside-down staircases and students walking around the halls. But before she went in she decided to hang back for a second.
She walks back outside and stops in front of the red knight.

"Hey Chase. Long time no see," She says with a sad smile. That smile is quickly changed to shock as she's enveloped in the sent of pine and a strong hug.

Chase puts his chin on top of her head and says, "God have I missed you Mase." Chase was the only person to ever call her that, 'Mase'. They were always Chase and Mase, thick as thieves, partners in crime. Mason shakes off the shock and wraps her arms around his neck, his around her torso.

"I missed you too Chase," They let go but still stayed close, "I'm so so srry that I left. I never should have―"

"You have nothing to apologize for darling. I'm glad that you're safe. Sure I missed you but your safety is way more important to me than being apart for a little bit," He cut in.

"I really should go catch up with the girls but I'm glad I got to see you again," Mason says before giving him a quick hug and running after the group, butterflies fluttering rapidly in her stomach.

Author's note-
Well I am back! I am so sorry it took so long for a new chapter so I did make this one a little longer. And hey we learned about some of Chase and Mason's history together! Time between when chapters come out will be really random and sporatic mostly because I started school again. I will try my very best to get chapters out as quick as possible. I have most of the spacing done and the lines for the chapter written out I just have to figure out how to put them together. As always remember to eat, drink water, and get some rest.
Sincerely,
-Midnight
