The door was kicked open and three armed men entered.

Screams could be heard from outside, but nothing could be seen except flames.

My father walked up to them with his hands up.

"Please don't do it."

He pleaded.

"Please-"

One of the men stuck a dagger in his neck.

My father went to his knees.

The man spun the knife around. Sticking it out and back in, he enjoyed it.

My father's gurgling was drowned out by my mother's screaming.

She was holding a baby, it crying loudly.

She stopped screaming when she was hit in the chest by an arrow.

She turned to me and pushed the child into my arms.

With tears streaming down my face, I took the child.

"Run...please. Take her to the top of the black mountain-"

She spat blood from her mouth as she was hit by another arrow, this time in the back.

"She's the...Chosen One."

I started to run as she collapsed.

"Hey, the kid's running away!"

Shouted one of them.

I ran into the kitchen and jumped through the open window.

"Leave him, he will die either way!"

One of the other ones answered.

I turned back one last time and looked at my village. It was burning. Everything burned. The screams were piercing my ears so I turned back around.

I ran. I ran faster than I've ever ran in my life. I knew where the Black Mountain was, everyone did. My mother told me to bring the child to the top. So that's were I was heading.
