Chapter 7

I walk out into the lobby of the club and sigh. I hear the door open.

"Jacob. Just go away."

"It's not Jacob it's Vinnie."

I turn around no expecting to be Vinnie.

"Oh.. sorry Vin. I thought you were Jacob."

"Your fine. Are you okay though? I saw what happened."

"Yeah.. its just.. Jacob and I have.. history."

"I can tell. If you don't mind, wanna tell me?"

"It's a long story.."

"I have time." Vinnie smiles at me.

I hadn't talked to Vinnie much before and I haven't noticed how attractive he actually was.

I chuckle a bit and signal him to sit next to me. I start from the beginning, starting Freshman year of High school when we first became friends.

"So he just dumped you? For no reason?"

"I mean I know why now after 4 years, but yeah."

"Sydney.. I feel like your still emotionally hurting over it."

"I just need to find out a way to move on from Jacob y'know."

"I get it. This may be terrible timing, but what if I took you out to dinner tomorrow?"

I looked at him sort of surprised. A guy like Vinnie asking someone like me out? How is this possible?

"I'd love to." I smile and Vinnie smiles. "I'm actually gonna head out now though. See you at home?"

"Yeah. You will."

I get in my car and smile. Maybe Vinnie is what I needed.

- meanwhile in the club -

Jacob sits down at the table with disappointment.

"What just happened man? She just left!"

"She made it clear that she doesn't want to get back together. I don't blame her, but still."

Everyone looks at each other wishing the plan would of worked.

"Where's Vinnie at?"

All of a sudden, Vinnie rushes back into the club.

"Guys. I just asked out Sydney and she said yes!"

Jacob turns around. "She told you yes?"

Vinnie looks at Jacob. "Oh- uhm- I'm sorry- I didn't mean to uh-"

"It's fine. Go out with her. She made it clear she doesn't want me. I'm gonna go home."

Jacob grabs his keys off the table and walked out. Everyone turns to Vinnie.

"So when are you guys going out?"

"Tomorrow night."

"How did that one happen?"

"Not sure it just kinda happened y'know."

"We should probably all get back to the house. If Jacob and Syd get left in a room together they may just kill each other."

"If that ever happens I'm betting on Sydney."

"Oh my fuck Jake. Wrong timing."
