BRADEN
I step out onto the porch. The cool fall weather hitting me as soon as I step out of the house. My mom's car is pulled up in front of our house and she is walking to me in a rush. Her braids swing behind her as she makes a beeline towards me. Tyler hangs back, walking slow like he's too cool to be here.
"My baby!" my mom yells wrapping me up in a hug. She's tall, 5'8 to be exact, so he has no probably pulling me into her. I hug her back missing that mom smell she has and the comfort. It's always nice to see her and I know it lessens the worry she has for me at all times. She used to play basketball just like my dad. That's how they met actually. He passed away in a car accident. Drunk driver.
My brother took it the hardest. I guess that's how he ended up down this road. Tyler looks just like my dad. While I got my mom's thick curls and lighter skin my brother is darker with short thick hair. We are just a tall family all together.
My mom releases me as Tyler walks up to me, "Nice broken porch."
I shoot him a glare. I have been meaning to get the porch fixed ever since Lacey fell on it but the maintenance men won't ever showed up. I have called them at least fifty times.
"Nice to see you too Ty," I say flicking his forehead. He rolls his eyes at me as our mom wraps her arms around our shoulders.
"My boys," she says with a smile plastered on her face. Tyler rolls his eyes but doesn't pull away. It's nice being back together. I know Tyler feels the same way, even though he doesn't show it.
"Alright, I just have to grab my keys and then we can check into your hotel and go for dinner," I say ushering them inside. I made sure all my roommates hauled ass to clean up our apartment. We found some crusty ass shit all around the apartment. I don't even want to talk about the bra and condom we found in our coat closet.
I shiver at the memory stepping inside our house. It smells like the Febreeze Carter brought over covering the bleach smell from earlier. I told everyone to be on their best behavior even though I know my mom won't care but Tyler shouldn't be getting any ideas.
"This house is cleaner than I expected," my mom muses walking towards the living room. The rest of my roommates must be in their rooms but I hear footsteps upstairs.
"We cleaned, today actually."
I reach across the kitchen counter grabbing my keys from it. When I turn back around I see Asher and Carter walking down the stairs. I try to wave them to go back upstairs because Asher is shirtless while Carter is wearing his tee shirt. While it covers enough it doesn't cover enough.
Carter freezes eyes wide as she tugs down Asher's shirt further. Asher has a cheeky look as his face bringing Carter in front of him. I shoot them both a death stare because clearly, they were doing something NOT appropriate for my mother to be here for. If she notices she doesn't say anything.
I think she is just excited to be here.
"Asher! Is this your girlfriend who you and my son have been posting everywhere?" she asks excitedly. Carter's face turns an even brighter red as Asher lets out a large laugh.
"Yes this is Carter Miller," Asher says holding Carter by the shoulders. Who is still holding down the hem of his tee shirt. Tyler stands next to me looking over Carter earning a death stare from Asher and slap from me.
"Hi Miss Williams," Carter says extending a hand towards my mom. She ignores it and instead pulls her into a large hug.
"Oh nonsense. You get to call me Iris, you have been keeping all these boys in check! I should be thanking you!" my mom says as Carter gets trapped in a bear hug. Her small frame is no match to my moms 5'8. If she wasn't so freakishly short, she wouldn't have this problem. Asher has an amused smile on his face watching his girlfriend who's ass is probably out.
