LACEY
I throw myself onto the guys couch with a heavy sigh. We are getting ready for the Halloween/Braden's birthday party tonight. By his reaction before left with his brother and mother, he is not stoked on it either. Hence why we didn't tell him until Trey slipped up. He also has been calling it "Braden's Birthday Bash" as he requested. Today is Halloween and oddly enough it's on a Friday.
To say I had zero warning that his mom and brother were going to be here was an understatement. I tried my best to hide behind Robbie but that shit failed. Braden talks so highly of his mom I didn't want to fuck it up with my own mommy issues.
She knew exactly who I was which surprised me to say the least. To hear Braden talked about me excited me but also made my stomach drop to my ass. It's not like I have a great track record with Braden and if she knows everything...I don't entirely love that.
I was a shit girl to him last year and he wasn't necessarily the best to me either. All in all so could see why his mom would have a grudge towards me.
I suck in a deep breath staring up at the ceiling. I put false eyelashes on for my costume tonight and they are bothering the hell out of my eyes.
I see a flash of green and red running across the hardwood. I lift my head up and let out the biggest laugh. Tori and Carter are dressed in white skirts, shiny green and red tube tops, with white Converse high tops. Paired with Mario and Lugi hats. They look hilarious and I know everyone is going to love their outfits. Last night we did a group costume, we were Scooby Doo characters. Scooby being Sixer but since we couldn't bring her to the bar so Trey was Scooby.
"Oh those costumes are gold," Rae says walking down the stairs. Her and Robbie are going as boxers, Julie is going solo and being the lifeguard from Sandlot. Trey is going to love it. I decided to be a slutty biker. Well, not really slutty. Fishnets, a short black skirt, with a cropped Harley Davidson shirt, and a bandana paired with black heeled booties.
"Wait till you see what we bought Braden and Asher to wear," Tori says wiggling her eyebrows. I shake my head laying it back down against the pillows. I don't know why Asher and Braden let the two of them boss them around. I gulp feeling a tightness in my chest because why is Tori buying Braden Halloween costumes?
I glance over at my bag sighing. I bought Braden a birthday present. Stupid, I'm aware. We all pitched in and bought him a handle of Jack Daniels and some Lil Baby tee shirt. I bought him something myself. His chain, that he tucks away for the most part, has charms on it. Small gold charms that no one really notices. A cross, a basketball, and now this one. I bought. I hope he doesn't think it's stupid.
"Lacey, get up," Trey says grabbing ahold of my arm. I grunt but pull myself up with Trey's help. Jeremy and him stand in front of me as I stand up.
"She could have stayed on it," Jeremy says as I wave a hand. I step out of the way so they can push the couch flush against the wall. I glance at Trey and Jeremy's costumes and laugh. Pauly D and Vinnie from the Jersey Shore. Trey being Pauly D and Vinnie, Jeremy.
"You guys look fucking amazing! I should be a costume person!" Carter says clapping her hands together. Trey and Jeremy stand up straight and pose making the two of us laugh.
"I knew we should have been the cast of Jersey Shore this year!" Rae exclaims as Robbie shakes his head violently.
"Who would be Sam and Ronnie?" Tori asks as Asher walks down the stairs. Carter puts her hands up shaking her head.
"Ronnnn," Rae yells imitating Sammi's voice as Robbie looks at her in horror. We all release loud laughs while Robbie doesn't look amused. Carter scurries away from us and to her boyfriend, who is wearing a shark onesie.
