Chapter Nine: Sisters For A Month (part one)

*Just Over a Month Later* (*January 5th*)

Rainbow Dash's POV

Rainbow Dash walked through the school doors and headed towards her locker, with Scootaloo walking beside her still sleepy since she was up so early. She put all her textbooks in her locker, before double checking that she had all the supplies she needed for the month; like her laptop for working on the book she writing, her sketchbook specifically for fashion designs, her sketchbook for everything else, her songbook, her tablet for her digital art, her small notebook for baking ideas, her camera, her switch, her earbuds, her phone, some snacks, her EpiPen in case she needed it, first-aid kit, and a duffel bag with clothes, pajamas, a toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, backup earbuds, battery backup, phone charger, tablet charger, switch charger, backup EpiPen, etc.. Then Rainbow made sure Scootaloo had everything she needed. Satisfied that they had everything they needed, Rainbow and Scootaloo headed to the front of the school to wait for the rest of Rainbow's music class. Rainbow's music class was taking a month-long field trip, and they had to meet in the front hall of the school by 6:00am; it was currently 5:00 am.

Some of her classmates had invited their younger siblings to come with, and Rainbow had offered to be Scootaloo's honorary older sister for the duration of the trip so she and her twin sister Cloudchaser, who Daydream was keeping an eye on, could both come on the trip. Rainbow and Scootaloo sat on a bench waiting for everyone else to get there. Rainbow noticed Scootaloo fighting to stay awake, and in a gentle voice said, "Scootaloo, you can go back to sleep, and I'll wake you up when we're getting ready to leave." "Are you sure?" said Scootaloo looking at her. "I'm sure," said Rainbow, wrapping an arm around Scootaloo, and pulling her closer. Scootaloo rested her head on Rainbow's shoulder, and quickly fell asleep.

They were soon joined by Daydream, and Cloudchaser. Daydream sat next to Rainbow leaning against her slightly, and Cloudchaser was curled up against Daydream; both of them soon fell asleep. Diana stayed outside the front doors to wait for everyone else to arrive. Careful not to wake Scootaloo or Daydream, Rainbow pulled out her laptop and continued working on the final book in a trilogy she was writing under the alias Daring Danger. The series was called The Mythic Isles; the first book is Finding Home, the second book is Broken Trust, and the last book, the one she was working on now, is The Final Stand. Twenty minutes later Rainbow finished the last chapter, and sent the book to her publisher. Then she decided to work on a book that she had started writing after she moved here.

***Time Skip to When Everyone Arrived***

Rainbow Dash carefully put her laptop away when Diana announced that they would start boarding the bus in five minutes. "Hey Scootaloo, you need to get up. It's time to go," said Rainbow softly, gently shaking her shoulder. Scootaloo stirred and sat up, before yawning and stretching. "Daydream, Cloudchaser, come on wake up. It's time to leave," said Rainbow. Once they were all awake, they stood and grabbed their stuff. They then walked to the front doors while everyone else was still too out of it to register the fact that it was time to leave. Diana marked them present, and told them to go ahead and board the bus. Once everyone was on the bus, Diana stood up front to address the students.

"Alright everyone, as stated before this field trip is going to last all month. The first two weeks we will be staying in a hotel in the heart of Canterlot City. You are to stay with your partner the entire time, and check in with me before you go out. During the second week we will all spend a day at the mall. On the last two days of the second week, we will spend time with the King and Queen. The third and fourth weeks will be spent camping in the Mythic Woods. Once again you are to stay with your partner the whole time, and check in with me before you go off to do things. You are also required to attend the evening campfire. At the end of the fourth week we'll return to the school. Remember, be careful, but have fun," said Diana, "Understood?" Once everyone confirmed that they understood the rules, Diana said, "Now with that out of the way let's go." Diana sat down and the bus started moving. Fifteen minutes later Rainbow pulled out her laptop and her earbuds, and put on Captain Marvel for her and Scootaloo to watch on the way to the hotel. Scootaloo curled up against Rainbow as she watched the movie.
